Whether or not if this figure was a brilliant choice or not does not matter to me. Multiple people in this thread are only speculating on why the figure has not sold out. I personally did not buy Girl of Satan but I am interested in Lee process and artistic abilities. My opinion is just that, and could be totally wrong. This is a discussion thread and that's what we are doing. It is a proven fact Mr. Lee figures fetch a hefty aftermarket price [emoji39]

Yes, and you in particular keep at stressing that point. I see a lot of aftermarket comments from you instead of your interest in the subject matter if any. Why waste your time in this thread if this figure doesn't interest you? Your free to roam around anywhere here and it seems you have a lot of interest in if and how these things move in the aftermarket. I'm not suggesting your a flipper but all the commotion about this not selling out? :dunno so what. Its still a dreamcome true figure for many of the Genuine Exorcist fans and I guarantee you the best thing that could ever happen is if Lee decides to pull the plug on the sale and he just makes a low edition for those who supported him on this.

This is REAGAN EXORCIST and a representation of one of the greatest films evermade in the entire history....past,present and future.....of film.

Lakhota's more stressing the point that he is a fan and appreciator of Rainman's artwork. He doesn't need to buy the piece to comment how great it looks, or how he's happy for Exorcist fans who are receiving a grail. We have the liberty to discuss why something isn't selling out as fast as say, Bill V2. It's simply because of the subject matter and the character - some people don't want to have a poor, possessed little girl represented in figure form. It isn't a slur against you, your purchase of this figure, Rainman's artwork, or the film. It just freaks some people out.

That's fine, but to use that as an excuse for a group of collectors stressing nothing but "poor" sales speculation is not really supportive is it? We don't even know if he upped the edition because it was so popular or maybe one or two people decided to cancel... There are a lot of different scenarios at play here and only Rainman knows why. This poor sales speculation....is this what custom 1/6 art figures have become? I come here to get away from all that commercial stuff.

And funny that it's always the usual instigator. Some people don't learn.

No, not instigating. It was brought up as a topic of discussion. It's fair game right, but if the topic is not pleasing to some then your right let's discuss somthing else and leave all the poor sales/aftermarket discussion that was carrying on before I jumped in to share an opinion.

I'm hearing people are really scared of this figure is there some truth to this?

And just like that, a Rainman thread becomes an unpleasant bore once again.

Bore or boar? BOTH :lol

Yeah, the prologue is foreshadowing the face off to come but Merrin didn't become an adversary of Pazuzu during the opening scene though. It's actually addressed in the film that he had already faced Pazuzu previously and succesfully exorcised him from a young boy years before, nearly losing his life in the process. Hence the look of recognition and fear In Regan's eyes when Merrin arrives at the house.

The 'enforced suicide as sin' interpretation of the ending is not one I've heard anyone state before. According to the claims of the filmakers themselves, and the way I've always seen it, is Karras intentionally makes the ultimate sacrifice by giving his life to save an innocent. There's supposed to be Christ parallels at play.

Then again, there's no right or wrong, people are always going to have their own take on things and i guess.....you've always got Legion/The Exorcist III if you want to think of Karras ending up as a puppet like victim.

I know that Father Merrin preformed an exorcism previously (his experience is why they called on him), but I'm not sure they made mention that it was specifically Pazuzu. Actually he's never blatantly named in the movie which is why most people think she is possessed by Satan, because that's the only solid reference made (which I interpret as another lie and Karras knew that from the beginning). I'm not sure whether or not Iraq was the priest's and the demon's first encounter, but I do believe that it was the moment that Father Merrin became the target. What concretes that in my rationalization is when it's wailing his name backwards on the recording.

As far as my take on Karras's death, maybe I'm thinking out of the box and it's I'm sure it's not the popular view, if for nothing else it would technically make the demon win and I'm sure people would rather view Karras as the hero instead of the victim. I'm sure that being a Jesus metaphor as you said is what Friedkin and Blatty intended, but they also say they cringe when people call this a horror movie. Well guess what boys, this movie turns 6'2" 200lbs. dudes into wusses... so like it or not you've created a horror :lol. All in the eye of the beholder :lecture

To think Rainman has so much passion for it instead. Like most of the exorcist fans, it's the shock value the figure will have that's gonna create a genuine nostalgic feeling. I can't wait to have this on display. I want my figures to evoke all kinds of different emotions in people. That's when you know your doing 1/6 right.

I agree change of subject:

The demonic possession hits a nerve in reality with me. I know Freddy, Myers, Jason and Chucky are fictional characters and could never exist. If you believe in God then you undoubtedly believe in Satan, therefore possessions can exist. I understand the movie is a bit more than a religious God/Devil battle but it scares the **** out of me. To be truthfully honest I only saw it once and couldn't even tell you the story, when that ***** starts crawling backwards up the stairs and stabbing herself with the crucifixion that's enough for me.

I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't have the cash to buy the figure when it went up for sale. I was banking on there being more time before the pre-order went up, but it went up rather quickly. The one I was considering sold out within two days and I assumed that ship had sailed. So I'm glad it's still available and I have an opportunity to get it for its original price. Hopefully it's still available when I get paid this week.

I'm hoping for you too bro. I hope this could stay open long enough for all true fans who really want this to snag it for retail.

I have to say that what swayed me on this figure was Lee's paint job. This has got to be the most complex he has ever offered. I'm guessing all these will be painted by him. Has that ever happened?

I just wish Rainman offered some kind of plan to let you make 2 or 3 payments instead of all at once. I'd love to get this, but I just don't have 1200 at once to do it, and don't see the point of getting either version without the bed...
