Woo-Hoo! "RAMBO IV", baby!!!!

Oops, sorry... "JOHN RAMBO", baby! :chew

Rambo looks like he's melting. Sly's face is sagging. He looks like Clayface from Batman. I have a really bad feeling about this.

dang dude, his body looked way better in Rocky. wtf happend?

Wow. If I wasn't so lazy, I bet I could do a backlog search and easily find 20 identical quotes to the one above when Rocky Balboa set pics started popping up. Stallone is not an idiot ... and he has proven the concept can work with Balboa. I think he has earned the benefit of the doubt right now.

I agree. I'm not worried.

Also, from the looks of those pics they were taking during a filming of a scene where Rambo gets pretty F'ed up.

I don't know if anyone's seen the Rocky Balboa DVD, but they talk in the extras about Stallone's workout for the film, and it seemed like he intentionally didn't tone up areas to make it look visually more plausible in the story, I would think if he wanted to try hard enough, he could tone up nicely, so I'm sure however he looks in the last Rambo film, it'll be a great flick, 80s actions films returning :) And the best part, it's not as long, but he is doing longer hair, wouldn't be Rambo without it, and judging by the scarring made up on his arms, he's going to get right into the head of things as always, old or not :) Can't wait for this movie.

I can't imagine a Rambo film without Jerry Goldsmith's incredible score. That was some of his finest work as a composer. He really elevated those films with his scores and somehow I think Rambo IV will be missing one of its most essential ingredients. The other being Richard Crenna. This won't fit in the same with the other films in the series. I wish they had made this 10 years ago when they were still alive. I hope they don't get some composer like the guy who did Terminator 3 to churn out some mediocre and forgettable score. It needs that essential Rambo signature on it.

Stallone has said on a few occasions that Rambo is going to be built more like a powerlifter this time around. More heavy-lifting bulk than the sinewy tone of previous Rambos. Supposedly, all the years he's spent repairing PT boats has developed his new "no more lifting weights or swinging away in the quarry for me" physique.

Makes some degree of sense. Plus, he's old.

Anyway you slice it, he looks better than most of us probably do! (and there's no need, fellow members, to respond here with your training schedule...I'm sure there are plenty of you who enjoy a good workout from time to time. Relax. You're not a nerd. :p :D )

That's very true. I actually really enjoyed Terminator 3 (all things considered) but the orchestral bone they threw us fans over the closing credits just didn't get the job done.

Brian Tyler, who scored Constantine and a few other mediocre genre pictures is doing the score here. No word yet on if he plans to utilize Goldsmith's main theme, but it'd be a damn shame if he didn't.

He doesnt look as buffed because he doesnt have his steroids.
They were confiscated at an Australian airport while Stallone and his hangers on were en-route to the set.
Australian port authorities are going to charge them soon I believe. Google it.

I really wish that Stallone had talked to me:D before making his latest two movies, Balboa and Rambo. I had the perfect movie for him....Bear with me.....

Forget the last Rocky movie....

Rocky Balboa comes out of retirement to fight a few exhibition matches for our boys over in Iraq. After a few days, terrorists capture Rocky! An American Icon has been captured. The Pentagon springs into action, the only man that can bring back Rocky is....John Rambo! Think of the possibilities! Rambo destroys half of Iraq bringing him back. It would be a Hollywood first! Stallone would be nominated for Best Actor and Best Supporting actor in the same film!

You could call it FIRST BLOOD-EYE OF THE TIGER!

I could be wrong, but I think he will just use a lot of Goldsmith scores from the earlier films and just have someone "spot score" it from there.

The score for ROCKY BALBOA was almost entirely reused stuff from Bill Conti's actual ROCKY and ROCKY II scores. I think he will do the same with Rambo (assuming Goldsmith's estate clears it... if they even have to).

Stallone will be sentenced next month when his lawyers enter a plea at the hearing. Stallone will not be required to attend but you can bet he will have to pay a 100,000 fine which he can easily make up for on the Rambo grosses.
