I'm a diehard Alien/Predator fanboy and getting through AVP:R was a tough experience. First of all, it was Dawson's Creek meets Sci-Fi which didn't work. Second...you couldn't see anything!!! Third, the Alien designs were putrid and the Predalien looked too much like a Predator instead of an Alien. The Alien takes on SOME characteristics, not all. The Dog Alien didn't bark or wag his tail you know. Wolf was the only good part from Requiem. Now, to get off my soapbox and answer the question...which...is...Dog Alien all the way. Always loved that design and the way he moved.

Technically, wasn't the dog alien in Alien 3 started off as a buffalo alien? In the final cut, it was changed to being a half Rottweiler. It would have been more awesome if it was a pit bull :yess:

I was able to 'come around' to not just liking Alien 3 but thinking of it as a proper Alien film and very much canon in my personal view. I don't think I'll ever reach that with Alien Resurrection though. Last time I tried to watch it I turned it off half way through.

Amen bro. Although, I gotta say, visually on some level it was very interesting to look at. Good design. Get rid of all the crap story and bad actors, maybe we got something. I too can not get through it. It just has to be on in the background for it to survive on my tv. Although, I still like the aliens swimming scene. You gotta admit, that was pretty freaky.

Okay, Alien 3 didn't have bad actors or a bad story.. Resurrection isn't nearly as bad as you're making it out to be either. Go watch them again.

The Bambi Burster comes out of an Ox in the special version.
Aliens are never "half" of their hosts. They just take on some of the characteristics/advantages of them.
It's not like a Facehugger and a Rottweiler made sweet love, and had a baby..

Pit Bull would have been cool though :lol

One day, you'll be watching Alien 3, and... POW!

You suddenly understand the magnificence of it..

When I was a kid, i'd watch it and be bored. Because I was a kid. You've got to open your eyes. You've got to really get into the movie, the Alien, let it possess your mind.. Only then, will you fully understand the gloriousness of... Alien 3.....

Oh man! I totally meant that comment to be towards Resurrection only! Alien 3 is pretty much my favorite! I was just super let down with Resurrection especially after part 3. Resurrection had a good look, but the rest just destroyed pretty much everything we loved.

I don't understand. What was so bad about Resurrection?

I love all the Alien movies because of their EXTREME uniqueness. You never expect what happens with them.

Idunno, I love Resurrection. It's a wild, Biomechanical Alieny dream.
We've seen Ripley fight the Aliens, hide from the Aliens, fear the Aliens, and now she's embracing them. She is one of them now.

I thought it was great.. :dunno

I'll wipe that smile off your face with some more ALIEN! :lol You can pick the next one. :lecture

I liked it, but next time it's ALIENS. I always wondered if I would grow out of ALIENS, but I now know that I never will. ^_^

This doesn't really have to do with the Alien, but it's been pissing me off and I'll go ahead and say something..

I've noticed that with EVERY movie I watch on my blu-ray player, for about 10 minutes the sound will be normal. Then the Human voices will turn EXTREMELY quiet, while the background sound-effect stuff is still just as loud, then back to normal..etc. So annoying.

Just wondering why it's like that..

Sounds like it has to do with the audio settings on your TV. I can't give you a more specific answer without knowing more about your setup.

I've tried it on my Grandma's tv, and mine.. Messed with settings, etc.

It's to the point where I can't even watch the movies because I get so pissed. Having to turn the volume up or down every FIVE SECONDS!! :gah:

I actually think it's only certain movies now.. I think Resurrection is fine.. I know for a fact it happens with Aliens, Predator, AvP, and Alien.

I guess it's just a problem with the blu-ray versions of these movies. Although I haven't heard anyone else complaining about this..

Yeah, sounds like a settings issue and it's not just with this series. There are lots of Blu-Ray titles out there that have a really low vocal audio mix. Not sure why and it's frustrating to constantly be raising or lowering the audio. I have a pretty good set-up and I have problems on a weekly basis. TRON Legacy was also like that. Low vocals and then LOUD AS HELL techno music. :thud:

Technically you're right and that version would have been better, but, when discussing movies I always go for the theatrical cut because you're never sure who's seen which version.
