Blue Valentine: 9.5/10 Possibly the best love story movie Ive seen...

I would agree with that. If you haven't already seen 500 Days Of Summer I recommend that you do. Completely different love stories but I adore both.

Honestly, I haven't watched Spanish horror movies much (any recommendations). But I really like Del Toro's presentation. Especially with the Spanish Civil War in the backdrop, it had a similar feel like Pan's Labyrinth. Tonight I'll be watching Cronos. :)

Mhm let's see, Rec (maybe Rec 2 too), Julia's eyes, The Orphanage.

They're all great.

Yup, Del Toro's something else these days, a much needed boost for fantasy movies.

I actually watched Quarantine first (Jennifer Carpenter :love). Then I saw Rec. Yet to watch JE and TO.

One of the Spanish movies (not horror) I really like is: The Secret in Their Eyes. Apart from that, the Death trilogy by Iñárritu, amazing!

Saw Mad Max. 8/10 I was more shocked when I found out that was young Mel Gibson, and I couldn't believe it.

Texas Chain Saw Massacre (2013). 4/10. Pretty awful film but the main actress - Alexandra Daddario - has entered my top 5! #smokinghot

Room 237 - 3.5/10

I was hoping to see a doc about The Shining. Instead I saw a doc about how The Shining was really about Native Americans, the Holocost, and fake moon landings. :lol

The theories presented in that thing were absolutely bananas. Talk about people with too much time on their hands. Yeah, the poster of a guy skiing is really a minotaur. Good eye, lady. :cuckoo:

I don't think there was enough there to make an almost 2 hour documentary about it. Even more strange is that there is some interesting theories out there and the vast majority featured on this were total crap.

What I take from the Shining personally is that it's a movie about the horrors of the past and people ignoring them and it all happening again. Jack having nightmares , Grady not remembering butchering his family , the mention of Indian burial grounds and fighting Indians away from the hotel with a sense of glee. Gallons of blood squeezing from the elevator doors which are shut as if the truth can't be held a secret. It was one guy that picked up on this for just a few minutes.

The fact that there are mirrors in every scene with a ghost could also be pointing to a persons own reflection ( I was really surprised this didn't get a mention unless I missed it ).

The Minotaur crap was ridiculous and the guy at the end saying his life was turning into the shining had me in stitches. :rotfl

Saving Private Ryan - 9.5/10

It's been a few years since I last watched this....and it's still as powerful as ever.

It was definitely too long. I almost turned it off during the one guy who was talking about Nazis and the Holocaust. That was so far fetched and drawn out.
