thor 2

ugh

go back to making action flicks instead of comedies, marvel

i don't think i can even give it a fair rating right now

**** that noise. If you're taking these hero flicks seriously, you are making them wrong.

it was like they ratcheted up the comedy to an 11 in this one and it just didn't go over well with me. i understand the need for comedic elements but they went way over the top with it IMO.

There's room for comedy. but don't let it get out of hand, the Avengers had a little too much, haven't seen Thor2 but they say it's even more :slap and there's more to superheroes than just that, you can take these movies seriously.

You can have a lot of comedy in movies of characters like Spidey, but not a great amount with characters like Batman and there's nothing wrong with that.

That's interesting, I actually thought the comedy in Thor 2 was much more restrained than in Part 1. I for one loved all the comedic elements associated with Thor and Loki, but disliked everything with Kat Dennings and Stellan Skarsgard.

I don't think Schumacher got the memo that day. :lol

Agreed. Skarsgard especially, some shark jumping silliness right there.

The camp for Batman doesn't work, because he isn't a campy character.

Marvel is 100% camp. Every single character is campy as you could possibly get.

DC, Marvel, doesn't really matter. Every golden age character has had ridiculously campy incarnations; pretty much by definition. The characters have been reinvented so many times that they aren't really restricted to a specific tone.

'Cept Batman, he needs to be a bitter tough mother****er, he can have camp on his movies, as long as most of the camp doesn't come from him.

i have to be honest...the cameo that i won't mention really took me out of the movie...kind of like the mandarin moment from IM3.

dennings and skarsgard were buffoons and even portman was driving me crazy.

hopefully captain america 2 can help me get rid of the bad taste in my mouth.

My point was just that campy Batman would still be true to some incarnations of the character, whether it's the right approach or not. But I agree with your take on the character, sounds like Grant Morrison's style. I love how he introduces the campiest elements of Batman's past and manages to craft the most badass Batman stories ever around them. It gves them an added depth with more interesting concepts to chew on than the standard story.

Yeah, his stuff can be hard to follow but even when I'm totally lost it's interesting as hell. :D

Daredevil is a blind man who can see and wear's read. Camp.

That Spider-Man is Spider-Man so camp by defeat. I don't care how much rape and poo keys Marvel puts in their books. They are campy as all hell.
