Under the Skin.

Honestly, I don't even know how to rate it.

It was at once intriguing, compelling and tedious. Scarlett Johansson was sensational.

But Jesus, what did I just watch.

Um, 8/10.

Scream 4 - 3/10
You could see coming who the killer was from miles away. They tried too hard with the whole one-up remake/reboot/sequel unexpected twist of event crap.

We Need To Talk About Kevin - 7/10
I ****ing hate Kevin. I even wanted to punch the toddler version in the face.

22 Jump Street. Although a couple parts fell flat for me, a lot of funny **** and it can definitely hang with the first. The flat parts were definitely evened out by that ending barrage of previews for the next 20 sequels, when Seth sits in, then Schmidt is back saying " what contract dispute?' I was laughing so hard I cried. Definitely will watch at least a couple more times when it goes red box.

Watched it and was thinking the same thing. Very Kubrick inspired. Wife didn't care for it.

The Purge: Anarchy - 7/10 - This is what the first flick should have been. Loved it even though the ending played out exactly as I thought. The main guy would make a pretty good Punisher.

I thought it looked good on the preview, but then again, was fooled by the first ones trailer. :lol

Planet of the Apes (1968) 8.5 out of 10
Beneath the Planet of the Apes 6.5 out of 10
Escape From the Planet of the Apes 7 out of 10
Conquest of the Planet of the Apes 7.5 out of 10
Battle for the Planet of the Apes 6.5 out of 10
Rise of the Planet of the Apes 8.5 out of 10

Been on an Apes binge. I have never gotten past Beneath before on the original series. I was actually really impresses what they achieved with next to no budget on the sequels. The ideas in the films are what's important. Conquest was badass! Especially the unedited ending. Very psyched for Dawn :rock

PotA 68 - 10/10
BtPotA - 8/10
EftPotA - 7.5/10
CotPotA - 6/10
BftPotA - 5/10
PotA2001 - 3/10
RotPotA - 9/10
DotPotA - 9/10

Giving Dawn of the Planet of the Apes an 8.5. Would give it a 9, but that means I like it more than the original and that seems sacriligious.

Under the Skin. - 8/10

Hypnotic, fascinating and visually brilliant yet I still have no idea what I really watched. I'd say I'd watch it again but I'm not sure that would help.

Did anyone feel any sympathy for the alien towards the end of the movie? I didn't due to the acts previously performed but it's something that crossed my mind upon reflection. Also were the bikers searching for Scarlett's character due to her becoming almost too human? Did she let the guy go out of sympathy who the biker threw into the boot of the stolen car?

So many questions and possible interpretations.

So bump up the original's score!

I am not against giving movies a 10 like some folks here, but I do reserve them for only my favorite movies. PotA is definitely in my top 10. I really like Beneath too. Wish they'd filmed its original ending so I could watch that and stop there and only watch the theatrical cut when viewing the whole series. I like the series as a whole, it's just so bleak and depressing. The most uplifting one is also just silly and dumb. It's about as good as the TV series.
