The Mummy, the new one - Chinese market movie/10

FF in less than 30 minutes, terrible, Tom Cruise must have some big Scientology debts to pay.

Didn't even make me want to have a cute mummy gf.

I'll bet Hell has frozen over! :lol

:lol

A few reviews of my own:

The Founder (2016) - 7/10

Definitely not on the level of Birdman or Spotlight. I'm not even sure why the story of Ray Kroc warranted a theatrical release. Keaton plays him very similarly to his character from the RoboCop remake.

San Andreas (2015) - 6.75/10

I was pretty surprised at how exciting and intense this movie was. Cheesy as hell obviously but definitely a fun check your brain at the door disaster movie with possibly the hottest mother/daughter combo in the history of cinema.

The Invitation (2015) - 7.75/10

Saw this about a year and a half ago and it still plays very well on a second viewing.

This ones hard to rate...

It Comes At Night - 8/10

Besides the fact that it shares the same distribution company (A24), this movie has much in common with The VVITCH. Both movies revolve around a family in isolation, surrounded by a menacing Forest, and because of what lurks out there, the family is ripped apart. Paranoia, and a certain steadfastness in ones beliefs, or at least, belief in what must be done is what eventually deal the characters the hardest blows.

This film, while slow, is hard to look away from, despite how much you might want to. It has a certain brutality to it, especially it's ending. It is definitely worth watching though.

I have come to believe that
A24 hates kids. :lol

Edit - To be completely honest, I'm still mulling over that rating.

The VVitch was vastly superior but ICAN had me glued to my seat as well.

I recommend Goodnight Mommy if you haven't seen it already, maybe not as good as A24 stuff imo but it's the same kind of movie.

Revenge of the Ninja - 9/10

Rage of Ninja - 6/10

Death Code: Ninja - 7.5/10

Silver Dragon Ninja - 6/10

Ninja Thunderbolt - 6/10

It Comes at Night - 7/10 - Good but completely predictable.

Mother! - 8.5/10 - Pretty good movie. Was expecting some type of horror, but it was anything but. Bardem was good but Lawrence carried it. First flick in a while where I was actually getting pissed off with the main character. GTFO of my house!

I agree, The VVitch (IMO) is a Masterpiece. This film is not even close, but it is definitely engrossing. I just thought so many elements were similar between the films.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York- 7.5/10

I know it's not quite the season yet, but I needed some laughs yesterday and this one just never gets old.

Can't wait for BR 2049. There are more movies I want to see between now and Christman than during the whole summer.

No kidding. Thank God for things like the theatrical Miyazaki and Indy marathons because new releases this year have been absolutely abysmal for the most part.

Other than A Ghost Story the best movies to see on the big screen have been re-releases. Checking showtimes for IT I'm now seeing that the animated Beauty and the Beast is back in theaters at my local AMC. Plus we just had T2 and Close Encounters and I see that E.T. is coming up again. Forget the current crap and just go for the classics, lol.
