John Carter Of Mars - 7.5/10

Unexpected feels ;_;

Too bad there won't be a sequel.

I think this is the point that made Disney realize they needed to buy reviews.

You DC nuts still holding on to your conspiracy theories, I see.
Haarrgh, doesn't mean I'm wrong.

Btw I hate the DCEU now, I want it rebooted. Still, it's dumb of anyone to think scores for both aren't rigged, anyone who takes those scores at face value I have no respect for, only derision.

Hopefully Disney can use their current BoxOffice/Critic-proof vest and get the trilogy going, anything they produce, audiences will eat, might as well put it to good use.

Every big review site recycles the same manure of bogus "critics", goes for gaming reviews too. Famitsu I used to go to for a good number, and they've given good ratings to utter trash in the last few years.

I've actually never seen John Carter :lol

The CGI and actor turn me off.
The CGI is hardly below most current blockbusters, hell, the 4 armed Tharks look better than Steppenwolf.

The actors are borderline serviceable and it has some very slight pace issues, but the direction helps the movie reach some high notes.

If you're ever in the mood for some pulpy fantasy, I think you will be satisfied.

We've reached literal groupthink, it's quite undeniable.

You can still handpick reviewers that specialize in mediums and genres though, there still are some.

Yeah I agree. As much as I hate Youtube "stars", there's a few unknowns out there I'd go to before I went to like some ******** newspaper site. Impartiality is none existent for most part. It's really no different than political polling. They put out a number that is skewed to get ***** in the seats to pay back the check they got from said studio. Whenever there's a review embargo, I just assume it's dog ****.

And frankly, I think this place is a good place to find good numbers on films since after being here for a few years and get to know people, you know their tastes and I find it a good barometer. But at the same time you get boneheads that give 9/10 to everything.

I've found this to be very efficient for me.

I finally convinced a 20something co-worker who calls himself a horror/sci-fi fan to watch Terminator 2, because I simply could not wrap my head around the fact that he had somehow never seen it.

He watched it, and said he found it boring. He said he had to force himself to finish it.

I don't know what to believe in anymore.
I can't stop thinking about it.
This has somehow hurt me on a deeply personal level.

He's not a sci-fi fan then, simple.

For any standards, specially sci-fi standards, it's an agile movie, if he's found it boring I can't imagine he watches any kind of higher or hard sci-fi.

Is he one of those people who think Star Wars is sci-fi?

Goodfellas - 6/10

It's on AMC and they completely cut the balls off it with censors.

You shocked and appalled me there for a second.

I concur.

Just about every Sci Film is better than most “Blockbuster” films any given summer..

C'mon, I know you must understand how RT works, right? I mean a high score doesn't mean it's great, just most critics felt it was at least marginally good.
