While I prefer the first Conjuring film, this second one creeped me out more after first watching it. That damn nun is terrifying. The way she just stands in the Warren's hallway or how she manifests in that painting is freaking insane. Those two scenes are the scariest she gets in my opinion. Moreso than in her own movie.

She really is. When Lorraine follows her from the hall and we see the shadow walking towards the painting, then the hands appear. Damn that's some freaky stuff.

Art's debut was in the short film, Terrifier (2011), which was used in its entirety as a segment of All Hallows Eve (2013).

I only found out about the character and the films when Trick or Treat Studios previewed their 1/6 figure. I tracked down all the films and was strangely captivated.

Art is the most terrifying of clowns. Creepy, but above all brutally sadistic in a way that classic slashers such as Michael or Jason generally aren't.

The cruel mime taking gleeful pleasure in causing pain and physical injury was taken to extremes in Terrifier 2. It's a video nasty on steroids. Parts of it were so gruesome it was hard to watch, but as with his original appearance there's something oddly fascinating about the character and the performance. I hate clowns at the best of times so these are true horror films for me.

I watched Halloween Ends earlier. It wasn't good. But then Terrifier 2 makes every Halloween film seem more like an episode of Scooby-Doo!

Agree with everything other than clowns being scary lol

But Art is creepy for sure and you can’t help but watch him when he is on the screen.

Paranormal Activity - 9/10 Had to watch this during the day. Excellent film, super spooky and jumpy.

Paranormal Activity 2 - 8/10 Another one watched in daylight ( ), very cool where Hunter is being pulled out of his cot, and when Kristi gets dragged down the stairs. I've seen it before but it still scared the crap outta me cos I'm a big wuss.

Star Trek TMP - 7/10 better than I remember, the new version does seem better but it’s still a bit too slow

Star Trek 2 8/10 still the best, might be pretty close.

Star Trek 3 6/10 always been pretty average to me. Chris Lloyd is great though.

Star Trek 4 6/10 just not as good as I remember even the jokey middle section is strained. Catherine Hicks is lovely though.

PS. I used to be a massive ILM fanboy but I will say there are some really bad effects shots in 3 and 4 especially. I guess modern tv’s are mostly to blame. Maybe. I love the shot of the Klingon warship over the whaling boat but is spoilt by the different lighting between the ILM wide shots and the close ups.

This one started out interesting, then became very silly. The best bit was the first scene in the rain which I found atmospheric.

Halloween (2007) - 6/10
Not really sure what to say about this. It's just a remake. But still an ok watch.

Homecoming - 8/10 - Multiple viewings and still love it.

Far From Home - 6/10 - 2nd viewing. Liked it better this time.

No Way Home - 2/10 - 1st viewing. Needed heavy editing. Terrible story and horribly written. Defoe was awesome though and I did enjoy seeing the other two Spideys brought back but it’s a shame it was in this movie.

Very late to the party with these as I don't have D+ and I no longer watch MCU movies at the cinema, so I can thank Air NZ and Delta for their entertainment systems:

Thor: Love & Thunder: 6/10
Not as terrible as I thought it was going to be, but still very meh. I hated those ******* goats though, and Gor was wasted. Nowhere near as funny as the movie thinks it is. Despite Jane being a Thor, it was still very much a OG Thor movie.

Doctor Strange & the Multi-Verse of Madness: 7/10
I liked but didn't love this. Wanda acted very differently than previously, but I guess that's the influence of the Darkhold. Wanda seemed to be very, very powerful and I was surprised at how ineffective Doctor Strange was against her magically. I definitely preferred the first one, but this was worth seeing on an aeroplane entertainment screen.

Pretty mediocre horror movie. But it has its charms.

Halloween Ends: 6/10

Much better than I was expecting, based on Kills and the critical consensus. It helps to go into this with no strong expectations for anything in particular. I felt it worked for what it was, and I liked the direction they were going for the most part, though it seemed to lose its way at the end.

Black Adam - 6/10
Wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. It was just mindless action in a safe and often seen storyline. There were some annoying characters *cough* The Kid *cough* and some really dumb bits, but overall fairly entertaining.
Pierce Brosnan definitely stole the show as far as I'm concerned.

Zack Snyder's Justice League - 8/10
This was the second time I saw this. After the first time I gave it a 9/10, but I can't do that anymore. I guess I didn't notice it (or perhaps didn't mind it) the first time around, but this time I was really, really bothered by Gal Gadot's acting. I didn't even mind the Diana Prince scenes, but as soon as she's Wonder Woman, her eyebrow game goes up to 11 and she really overdoes it trying to sound full of wisdom or something. The way she delivers lines like: "Kaaaal-eeeel, noooooo" (notice the lack of an exclamation mark) really bothered me this time 'round. Her acting in slow motion is even worse, which really doesn't help a movie that's 80% slo-mo.

Only watched these the past week. I agree that Doctor Strange was the better film. Thor just went too far with the zaniness - to a point where I can't buy that incurable cancer can even exist in the same universe and thus it just lost any emotional hook for me at all.

Not amazing and tbh I hoped for more, but if you are a fan of the original film or the books there is a high chance you will really enjoy this. Jon Hamm is terrific in the role.

Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet Of Curiosities (Netflix horror anthology show)
Watched the first three episodes and they go from ok to really good to, the one with F. Murray Abraham, is just amazing.

Not as good as I remember it. Why they turned such a classic into a deadbeat dad story defies logic. The sound design is the highlight lol.

The original not the pointless remake. Compelled after Angela Lansbury’s passing. A terrific film I don’t know how it got made in 62, incredibly challenging for the time.

Yup - the Russell Crowe embarrassment. 9/100 on Rotten Tomatoes. You have to see it to comprehend what a complete and utter mess it is. Mind boggling.

Really loved Rise, but this takes the story to a whole other level, just the most epic Shakespearean take on it.

Ahh one of my personal favorites of the eighties. The 80s fashions, the Coreys, Kiefer, that amazing soundtrack, the photography, such fun.

Wakanda Forever 8/10. Black panther story continuation was for me nothing special. Tbf BP lost its lead character so can’t be too hard on It. Letitia Wright was fine. Introduction of replacement for Iron Man was meh. But I gave it a B- because Namor and Talokan civilization was for me surprisingly well done. And my favorite characters Okoye and Nakia got more development, so that was a plus as well.
