The Expendables 8/10 - Everything I expected and more. Love the Over the top action and the violence is right up my alley. Plus the bantor throughout was great!

Hope they continue more of these.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Back to back matinees today.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World - 8/10

Expendables - 6/10

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Expendables - 8/10. Totally enjoyable cheesefest.

Scott Pilgrim - 0/10. Walked out halfway through. Absolute hipster garbage, and as someone who actually grew up during the '80s and experienced the 8-bit era firsthand and not in an indie retro "I'm so cool because I like ____ older than me" way, I was pretty much insulted by the entire thing. I hated every second of it that didn't have Mary Elizabeth Winstead in her underwear.

I honestly have no interest in seeing the Scott Pilgrim movie.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I thought I would enjoy it based on the trailers and what little I knew from pre-release stuff. During the movie, though, I felt like the guy who walks into a coffee shop and immediately realizes he made a mistake once he discovers he has neither a beret nor an ironic t-shirt on like every single other person in the building.

I just wanted entertainment, not to be bashed over the head with how clever you think you are.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

the trailer for Scott Pilgram seemed way over the top (in a bad way). Do you guys remember Speed Racer, that was ridiculous but not as bad as Scott Pilgram.

WOW... And the Speed Racer movie was horrible.

It's not that it's over the top. It's that it's Juno with hipsters.

Juno is another movie I'm not interested in seeing.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

The Cove, 8 / 10.

A little slow in parts while they lay the groundwork for their cause but overal a very well made film about the slaughter of dolphins in Japan.

Great Animated movie. The Blu-Ray Picture is as good as it gets.
Watched it again as I am so excited to see the movie, and July is sooo far away.
Now I need to see Batman Under The Red Hood today.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Karate Kid (2010)-6/10,it wasn't bad but now 26 years later and 12 year old kids this time i didn't get the same feeling i did with the original.A fun watch for Kids today though, but a real waste for me.

The Snake kick was a little over the top though, should have been more basic like the first one

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo 9/10

Absolutely spot on!

Really really enjoyed this film

I love the character Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace), what a supeb thriller, this is most certainly a stand out thriller for me, the plot is well paced and the story has enough to keep you thinking and keep you on the edge of r seat. I constantly found myself wanting things to hurry along so i could know the outcome desperately :lol

I am positively sure Noomi will win the oscar for best actress, it will be an outrage if she doesnt, this is a fin fine display from her

This is a must see! I will definately now read the books and i very much look forward to catching The Girl Who Played With Fire :)

Please don't over look this film like i did for a while, its a must but be warned it is subtitled, but thats a good thing in my book. I really hope the rumours of this being remade by Hollywood are untrue, leave this perfect piece alone!!!

Yeah I am afraid it is true.
The one saving grace is that the Director is David Fincher.
The Girl who played with fire should be out this month, and the wife and I have our fingers crossed that it will play in our area.

Yeah just been reading more into the remake now, seems Daniel Craig is lined up for Blomqvist, seems like a good casting decision and also maybe Robin Wright Penn for Lisbeth, nice casting and i guess i am still very interested but why is this not a stand alone film, why does it have to be remade?

Yeah i am also looking for cinemas in my area now that will hopefully play it, have you read the book? Sounds excellent and we get some backstory of Lisbeth in this one it seems :)

My wife is a big fan of the books, and has read the whole trilogy.
I have not read the books so I was unprepared for the first film, and found myself putting my hands over my eyes in the parole officer's apartment scene :lol
Not sure about Robin wright Penn as she's in her forties, way too old. I think Ellen Page would be the best choice seeing as she was in Hard Candy.

Awesome i really want to read the books now, has your wife said if there was alot of difference between the first book and the movie? Would it be worth reading?

Yeah the apartment scene with her guardian was awesome!!! As violent/sexual as it was in places it was all done in a way that was necessary and not overly graphic for no reason, i thought it was spot on i really did!

Yeah i know what you mean, Page could be a good call, she did play the sameish sort of character in Hard Candy as you say, yeah she could pull Lisbeth off
