Hard Candy - 7/10 - I liked this despite my usual Ellen Page dislike. At certain points of the movie it was hard to still be rooting for her over the suspected villain.

Thelma and Louise 9.5/10

I've seen this movie many times and always enjoy watching it. Great performances by everyone.

Original Mighty Ducks 10/10 :lecture

I love my hockey more than most hockey fans and even I can't speak highly of this movie. So many inaccuracies to the game.. the flying V? Oh c'mon! You know how many teams can shut that down even if they could get away with it with the rules....

Give me Miracle or the Rocket any day of the week! :yess:

Shutter island: 4/10

Seemed like the whole film was just filler for the "spectacular twist" at the end.

Most people didn't enjoy it because they didn't get the ending which I don't understand. It was so simple. Does anyone else get it? If you think you got it or don't get it, HUGE SPOILER WARNINGS up ahead:

Forgive me, but it's been a while since I saw this film so I have forgotten all the characters names. Ben Kingsley Jr's character looked to Leonardo DiCaprio and his doctor (but partner in Leo's warped world he built up for himself to protect the idea he had killed his wife), we find out that his experiment didn't work, or did it? When Leo's doctor shakes his head to Ben, he did so with the idea that Leo's character was replaying that same fictional movie he made for himself. It wasn't until Leo walks away and says he rather die a good man than live as a monster that we realize he was in fact cured and was in deed walking into an operation that would take his very being. That's what made that ending so cool was Leo's character knew what he was walking into. He couldn't live with himself or the thought of what what happened with him and his family. Most people assumed Leo simply wasn't cured and was replaying the same old movie again. That last part he acted out so they would take him away.

Having said all of that, it was definitely one of Martin Scorsese's weaker films. I still prefer Taxi Driver and Gangs of New York as some of my favorites from him.

Cop Out - 7/10 It was funny, kinda reminded me of the old Beverly Hills Cop type comedies from the 80's.

Ghost Rider: 7/10 Felt the urge to watch this after Hot Toys' announcement and what can I say... I enjoy this film. Sure, it isn't in the same league as IM or TDK, but it is a fun mindless film with some awesome scenes (GR riding up and down the side of a building :rock), that certainly is entertaining to watch IMO.

I loved it as a kid so even though it is really cheesy now I can't knock it.:lol Crazy seeing Mo so young.

I can't judge Miracle because I have only seen bits of it but top two for me would definently be Mystery Alaska and Slapshot 2.

Whip It: 3/10
Tried too hard to be a fun and quirky coming-of-age movie. Some funny parts and a few good characters, but overall felt like any other tween movie except this time the plot was about Roller Derby. Didn't realize it was directed by Drew Barrymore, but after seeing it I wasn't surprised :lol

I agree with Eli, you need to see Miracle and The Rocket. Both great movies.

You did hit the 2 after Slapshot by mistake though right?:wink1:

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Clash of the Titans 3/10 - I thought it would be, at least, entertaining...I was wrong.

The Road 7/10 - Quite depressing but very good.

Precious 8/10 - Based on actual events. Really hard.

The Good, The Bad, The Weird

9/10

Truly excellent Korean-made western action film. It takes a lot of cues (as well as its title) from many spaghetti westerns and the action is just phenomenally directed. Must watch if you like Sergio Leone/Clint Eastwood westerns.

AVATAR Special Edition: 10/10

Based on how well the original AVATAR turned out and how little I've cared for Cameron's previous SE's (with the exception of The Abyss:SE) I was going to pass on seeing the extended version in the theater. But then I read some pretty positive reviews here and on a couple other sites about the extra scenes and decided to go check it out.

WOW. An absolutely better movie with the extra footage. I think darn near every addition enhanced the story in some way. And total win for including the "EPIC HUNT" from the script treatment. I didn't even know he shot it! :yess:

A great movie made even better. The only bittersweet element of it is that I got to see it in an awesome 2.35:1 Cinebistro theater and I know Cameron'll crop the SE to 1.85:1 for the Blu-Ray like he did with the original. I much prefer the composition on the wider format. Oh well. Still an awesome movie. I highly recommend catching the SE in 3D (and in 2.35:1 auditorium) while its available.
