Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Animal Kingdom 10/10.
Monsters 8/10.
The Town 9/10.
Let Me In 6/10.
The Social Network 10/10.

RE: Let Me In....why the lower score? Did you see the original and that's why?

I haven't seen the remake personally but I hear it's getting some good reviews so that makes me excited to see it.

Just wondering....

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Bloodsport. 7/10 This movie still holds up today. I remember when it came out while I was in the 3rd grade and everyone wanted to headkick each other and do splits.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Let Me In 10/10 The best movie I've seen this year and to me, an all time horror classic. I'm judging this on its own merits and not comparing it to the original classic.

Social Network 9/10 Really good as well.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps 6/10 I almost fell asleep. I thought this movie wasted the talents of Michael Douglas, who was great nevertheless.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

gotta agree with Badmoon here, i didnt see it when it came out so i got the dvd yesterday and its a pretty ____ty remake.

Nightmare on Elm Street (remake)

This was pretty bad. I really don't have much to say. I won't be watching it again. 4 out of 10

Would have maybe given it a 5 but they killed the hot blonde too quickly. After she died I really couldn't pay attention to the rest of the movie.
:lol

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Shutter was okay. By about thirty minutes in I could already see where they were going with it so I just sat back and tried to enjoy the ride.

I'm not sure I follow you, so what you're saying is, if a movie is somewhat predictable its automatically "okay"? The trailer for The Shawshank Redemption showed Andy Dufresne "singing in the rain" ........ basically we knew he would escape from prision before the movie ended. Is Shawshank "okay" too? :)

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Shawshank is more about the journey than the destination which became my attitude with Shutter the more I sat there and watched it. However, as I was expecting more of a whodunnit thriller in Shutter I was much more fixated on when he was going to figure out he was crazy rather than the goings on of the foreground.

Its not a terrible movie, but what I went in for and what I got were two different things which can definitely alter one's perception of a film.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I can respect that ........... there are plenty of movies that are deemed classic but in my eyes just average too. Raging Bull is my 2nd all-time favorite movie but it has a story about a pathetic human being ............ doesn't mean a thing to me. Shutter Island is an artistic movie made by one of the best film makers of our time. Again, maybe not the greatest to everyone.

Visually I enjoyed the film very much. Partticulary the dream sequences
the one where the apartment burns down along with his wife was amazing and very forbodding
DiCaprio's performance was great though I tend to like him in everything he does. And Scorsese is well...He's Scorsese. I really admire his work right down to The Big Shave.

As for great/classic movies that just seem to be a miss on me.... American Beauty comes to mind. Visually amazing, very artsy/pretty piece of film but the mid-life crisis coming of age story is lost on me. But then I've met folks who don't care for The Godfather whereas I place it in the top ten, if not five, greatest films ever made.

Indeed.

Agree about the ending guys. I love it.

If you guys love the ending of H20 then you will hate the beginning of Halloween Resurrection. I also loved the ending to H20.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I never watched the Trailer for Shutter Island. Enjoyed the movie more that way.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

G-Force 5/10 Nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. But still pretty amazing that somebody ok'd this movie.

Out Cold 8/10 Still love this movie. Pure comedy gold.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Defendor - 7.5/10 I have to say I was surprised by this film it is not a comedy.

When Will I Be Loved - 6/10 if you like Tobak you will like it.
