Masters Of The Universe- 6.5/10

Cheesy and all that stuff but it takes me back to my childhood and all those moments getting He-Man stuff from my grandma and then wearing the ____ out of them.

The one with Dolph Lundgren?

I love that movie! :rock

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Jennifer's Body - 3/10 - It wasn't as bad as I thought it was, but yea, terrible acting on the part of the star. Would have been better if the blonde chick showed some bare bewbs.

Splice - 6.5/10 - Started out interesting and just got weird getting some mutant incest loving fun!

Planet Terror - 7/10 - While not really a "grindhouse" movie, this is a fun "bad" movie. The cast, characters, the dialogue, gore and story are just nuts.

Death Proof - 9/10 - A true "grindhouse" movie. I love it. Russell is awesome as Stuntman Mike and car scenes kick ass.

INCEPTION - 4 / 10

This film is incredibly overrated, and it is average at best. It's laughable this film received a 9.0/10 on IMdB ratings. This is one of the least enjoyable films i've watched in years. Movies are made to entertain, and recieves a D- for entertainment value, Cool plot & idea, but terrible flow and average execution.

It's said Nolan spent over 10 years writing this script...some see it as gold, i see it as fool's gold.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Cop Out: 4/10
OMG. Did THAT suck! Very surprisingly bad writing. The Good Guys on Fox is 10x better than that as a funny buddy cop show throwback from the 80s.

LOL at the Big Lebowski talk! I just watched it last week for the first time and thought it was just "okay" too. Pretty much what I was expecting.

BTW, what's going on with Netflix now? I noticed that Inception, the Other Guys and the A Team are not going to be available til January! WTF? Is this some new deal so that DVDs/BRDs have a chance to sell? Totally sucks!

Edit: Okay, it seems I've been under a rock for the past year since the Netflix delay has been going on since early this year!

I underastand you're a car guy, but i never really liked Death Proof. I own both Grindhouse films and i find Planet Terror to be superior.

I just couldn't get over the countless Quentin Tarrentino "foot shots" and the absurd dialoge between the females...it drove me nuts just listening to those babbling bimbos...lines like, "What he said, she said, he said, is really what he said." Tarrentino is incredibly ADD - OCD and watching this film and listening to the lines just drove me CRAZY.

But i will say the Scenes with Kurt Russel, specifically with the car were TOP NOTCH....and DEATH PROOF has THE BEST death scene ever filmed, which is a HUGE PLUS.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Then you missed the point of the movies, it's not how "good" the movies are. Death Proof is just like the 70's grindhouse the two movies are ment to mimic. Machete is far closer to a grindhouse movie than Planet Terror which everything seemed forced to make it a "bad" film. It is still fun though.

Grindhouse or not, Planet Terror was much better than DeathProof..but i get what you're saying about the films looing like throwbacks...in that case, Death Proof does that better.

I found Planet Terror to be fun and enjoyable for the greater part of the film. I found Death Proof interesting only when Kurt Russell or the car were on-screen.

Less filler, more fun. Love the fake trailers too. It's great they made Machete into a real movie and Hobo with a Shotgun is coming up next.

but i get what you're saying about the films looking like throwbacks...in that case, Death Proof does that better.

yes. Death Proof gets the technical look and feel much better. Rodriguez at times looks shot on high def and run through some software dirt and grime filters. At least he stayed away from all of the Sin City/Spy Kids/Sharkboy and LavaGirl green screen crap and went on location.

But I laughed out loud at stuff in Planet Terror. DeathProof just had a good adrenaline scene.

Agreed. The segment about the first group of girls needed to be cut WAY down for time.

I also found the anachronisms distracting (cell phones/texting, recent cars in the final car chase.

BUT... the big chase at the end of the film rocked.

yep....Blockbuster was getting their butt kicked by netflix and went almost bankrupt. So they signed a major deal with most of the major movie studios to delay their new releases to Netflix. Pretty dirty tactics I guess but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Blackadder II: 10/10 Brilliant British comedy!!! :rock :rock :rock

Blackadder: Baldrick, get the door.
[there is a crash and Baldrick enters with the door]
Blackadder: Now, Baldrick, I advise you to make whatever explanation you are about to give exceptionally good.
Baldrick: You said get the door.
Blackadder: Not good enough, you're fired.
Baldrick: But, my Lord, I've been in your family since 1532.
Blackadder: So has syphilis. Now get out.
