Very average and bland. I think back to the first movie and how the dialogue was so witty and clever, and the story and action all seemed very fresh and inventive. And all the characters were interesting and unique. This one? Not so much.
Finally got to see this, I now know what all the excitement was about. Surprisingly good movie, I was pretty worried it would be half-assed attempt to milk the series, but it was damn good.
Bumped into this last night on cable. A newlywed couple goes on a tour into the Grand Canyon and gets lost, ultimately ripping off 127 Hours. Yvonne Strahovski from the TV show Chuck was in it so I left it on for a while. Movie was so predicable I eventually wiki'd it and read the end of the plot. Exactly what I expected to happen. I bailed.
Kung Fu Panda 2: I usually grade movies I watch with my kids on a curve, but I don't with Pixar movies or the last few offerings from Dreamworks. Not as good as the original, but still enjoyable. 8 / 10.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes: Fantastic. 9 / 10.
Cowboys And Aliens Extended Cut 7/10 I thought it was very entertaining. Daniel Craig was great and who wouldn't want to look at Olivia Wilde for two hours.
I remember boardies here praising it pretty damn high when it was still in theatres. Its not a bad film at all. Its just nothing better than the first 3 x-men movies. Origins was good for what it was.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows - 9.5/10
Definitely a worthy sequel! A really good watch! A great story, amazing villain and some of the best action scenes I have seen recently!
Captain America: The First Avenger - 9.5/10
Bought it on Blu yesterday and I have to say that I enjoyed it a lot more than I did in the theatre.
Loved the Late 70's early 80's vibe of this one, really well done from the cast to the story. Could have done with a few less lense flares and a slightly quicker pace. But overall this is one of most enjoyable movies I've seen in a while.
