Man On Fire 10/10

Just can't pick any kind of fault with the film.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

tried "bridesmaids" again since it was on HBO and i still didn't think it was funny. if that fat chick got an oscar nod, chris farley should get a lifetime achievement award

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Wilder version) ... 7/10. Wilder was brilliant. Put in a few murders, and you've got Lecter, Chigurh, or Joker.

Grandpa Joe pisses me off, though. He's the real villain of the story. What a useless sack of crap. He got up and danced around after 20-years of laying around because the kid won a contest? Should've danced his ass to work for 20-years.

Not only that, but, after the kid invited him to Wonka's Factory ... he nearly destroyed the whole thing with his "fizzy lifting" fetish. Charlie is the only kid that got busted for something that was his caretaker's doing.

Charlie would've been better off going alone.

Aeon Flux (film) 2/10

You know how bad a movie is when all people can say about it was "how great it looks in HD" or "a prime example of HD". I held off on watching this movie because having been a huge fan of the series felt it would never get it right. The critics echoed that thought but as always you have to judge for yourself and years later, yesterday, I finally watched it. This movie sucked. Jolie was the obvious choice to play Aeon but even so this movie was so boring and had very little to do with the show. The action wasn't even entertaining. I think I stopped watching 4 times before I could finally watch till the end.

Submarine 7/10

A little indie coming of age comedy from Richard Ayoade, for those who know from the IT Crowd, The Mighty Boosh, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace etc etc. A quirky film that compares to something Wes Anderson would make if he was British. The acting was good, especially from the main teenager.

Beginners 8/10

I got around to watching this movie again and I really liked this film. But I'm a sucker for indie drama flicks, this one was very light hearted and the acting from MacGregor, Laurent, and Plummer were spot on. It was a very unique film in how it was shot and narrated and how when describing something they would show images to give you a setting and an understanding. And it didn't hurt that it was shot on location in my hood.

"Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale" 7/10

The film had a Twilight Zone feel to it in parts.

Money Ball - 8/10

- Pretty good movie & that's coming from a person who has absolutely no idea about baseball.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I REALLY wanna catch Moneyball. I wanna see Jonah Hill in a serious roll.

I should be receiving Paul and 28 Days Later tomorrow from Amazon. I love Paul, haven't seen 28 Days Later though, only 28 Weeks Later, any of you thinks it's as good?

That movie was great! In the sense that it was unique. I liked it.

Same here. I found it interesting and easy to follow and still enjoyable.

Eh it was alright. Early Jeremy Renner role with Rose Byrne, so the acting was still good. But hey it's another zombie movie so what's not to like.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

So 28 Days is better then weeks?

Yes definitely.

2nd one is all about containment and then again exposure. Danny Boyle didn't direct it either. Although now he's talking about directing a third even though he felt it didn't need a sequel.

But they're two very different films. The first definitely focusing on isolation, paranoia and trust. Whereas the 2nd again is about guns blazing trying to contain and failing.

Eh, apples and oranges.

Yes definitely.

:exactly:

Excellent summation.

The Hunger Games: 8.5 / 10. I wasn't a huge fan of the books; I really dislike reading from the first person point of view. But this was an above-average adaptation, and it never felt like it was 2.5 hours.
