Transformers One (1924) - 8/10 - I am genuinely impressed with this. The trailers made it look like some silly kids cartoon. And while it did start out as a silly kids cartoon is kept getting serious and then everything you know about Transformers starts falling in place and then by the end we have Optimus Prime and Megatron and going this is the best Transformers movie ever made. Well done.

The Game 7/10
holds up better than I expected. I miss Deborah Kara Unger. She seemed to be hot stuff for the briefest of moments and then seemingly was gone.

WarGames 8.5/10
ok so a lot of it is badly dated (giant floppy disks anyone lol?) but i don’t care. I love this. I saw this at the cinema when I was 12 and have been in love with Ally Sheedy from this ever since. Barry Corbin is genius in this “I’d piss on a spark plug if i thought it would help”. WarGames Matthew Broderick is better than any other Broderick. I mean seriously Dabney Coleman, John Wood, frickin John Spencer and handsome Michael Madsen open the film!!! My kids loved this as well. My son now wants to be a hacker lol.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 7/10
Was really nervous about this and while it’s not as good as the original it is a lot of fun and a real hoot. No time has passed at all for Keaton.

The Order 7/10
Surprisingly decent thriller. Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult (who is turning into my favorite actor atm) are both excellent.

The Three Musketeers Milady 6.5/10
Good but maybe not quite as good as the first one. I dunno, maybe the fact they are releasing the 70s version in 4K has me more excited. Vincent Cassel is fantastic as always. The ending is a big downer and there is nothing to suggest in the trades they are going to do the third film now which is a shame.

John Wick 8.5/10
Rewatch time. Surprisingly challenging to find all these on physical media but I’m glad I did. The special features are better than usual. I love watching Keanu do training. I still say this is the best one, it has genuine stakes and a big heart. In between all the insane Chad Stahelski action.

John Wick 2 6.5/10
Better than I remember but probably the least of the series. The action is great as always but the villain is bland.

North By Northwest 9/10
Just a flat out masterpiece and looks insanely great in 4k. The cast is incredible and the set pieces are just something else. Herrmann’s music is just insane.

The Beatles Get Back 9/10
A biig time investment but so worth it. The build to the rooftop concert is slow but exciting and when we get there, wow, just wow. Peter Jackson has done the seemingly impossible with this, and it is the definitive look at the collaborative artistic process.
