I gave it an 8.... still good, and had me excited enough to see it a few times. But I still would have liked a little more action and a meatier script, but still had the epic feel I really wanted. And Routh was perfect in the role, I just hope he has more to challenge him in the next film.

I gave it a 6.

Routh did a good job and it was a nice continuation of the Reeve 70's movies (well the first two classics) but the plot (Superman's kid---- does the world need a Superman?---- Hackman/Spacey Luthor instead of a tough as nails intellectual comic Luthor) was weak and what took two whole points off was the casting of Kate Bosworth--------- an example of how the wrong casting decision can completely sink 1) chemistry and 2) the overall film.

Hopefully the sequel will involve a recasting of Lois---- minimalization of the Superboy idea--- a bad guy (a la DOOMSDAY) who gives Superman a knock down drag out fight.

I gave it an 8. I enjoyed it and was a rare Supes movie that I really liked all the way through.

6 - did not really care for it at all. i wanted to, expected to and tried to...but alas nothing. to each their own.

10...........Loved every minute of it, epic in every sence of the word. Loved the cinematography, imagery, cast, everything. The movie had heart and gave Superman more human qualities than ever before, I felt for the Man of Steel for the first time ever and for good reason, he is a dad and so am I. With that said, BRING ON MORE ACTION!!!

It just couldn't make up what kind of movie it wanted to be. It was either a tribute, or a mellodrama or a generic action flick. I was largely disappointed in it.
