LOK Blood omen 2: If it was a stand alone game 6/10 as part of a story... 6/10.
Cons: Simon Templeman as Kain again = top notch. But there really wasnt too much dialogue in this game, theres a few speeches here and there but not enough. It kind of feels like they could only afford to hire him for half the time he did in the other games.
There wasnt really any memorable music at all.
Badd enemy designs. The Hylden sucked. Especially the Sarafan/Hylden lord.
Combat sucked sucked HARD. Hit detection was terrible, you can be swiping through enemys and yet miss them. But they can always hit you. Later in the game you just find yourself stood blocking attacks so you can use a special back at them.
Pro's :
The game is surprisingly alot longer than i remembered. Its by far the biggest LOK game. the levels are really long, and theres a good amount of levels. The settings are also really nice. The towns really feel like Nosgoth(or Victorian britain, same thing). The prison was like a level right out of Soul Reaver.
The blood sucking+lore was strangely addictive. Killing anything you find just to fill up your lore closer to the " level up" mark.
Ultimately it added nothing to the franchise. Well, we got to first hand meet and fight the Hylden who were made up to be a BIG deal. Turned out to be some of the worst enemies in any game.
I dont think it matters if you have ever played a LOK game or if you start with this one its very self contained and there is background added to each character through dialogue so you get the gist of them.
On to defiance now.
