at anyone who thought the base on this would touch the original Doom's base. I owned the original Doom for years and the throne was a masterpiece that Sideshow simply does not recreate anymore. I wasn't expecting much as far as the base goes. I agree with everyone that the "EX" is kinda lame...I would have preferred a Cosmic Cube or even an Infinity Gauntlet. That said, I actually like the costuming of the new Doom PF more than the original.

Not sure anyone thought that so much rather as thinking it would have been nice to have the proto base. Who knows what happened with that.

Complaining about a lack of detail on the armor/mask is kinda weird. This was a set of armor that was created by monks way on the top of a mountain.
All the other armors stupid writers end up giving him are just tragedy.

Maybe the protobase was to fragile? It looks like it Doom was standing something that wasn't 100% solid and if they made a semi-hollow base, it wasn't sturdy enough? I agree that the new base is lackluster, but it isn't as boring as the X X-men bases.

Doom is one of my fav. villains cause he adheres to a strict code of honor at all times and despite his ruthless nature, Doctor Doom is a man of honor. At least he was drawn like that in my youth
Sadly I can't find the spirit which I am looking for with that statue. Besides everything is so boring like the ex. choice! An arm who is holding a weapon becomes a standard I guess At least I can understand this boringness for a character like Jubilee from X-Men but for DOOM, it is unexpectable in my book! And what is that base?

I am disappointed, I was expecting a lot better than this.
IMO the statue is lack of detail, looks kind of plain. The base is a let down. I wish I can say I like this better than LSF so I can save $1,600+.
The full reveal makes me want the LSF even more.
I am still hoping this will grow on me. We'll see.

The masks suck especially the classic version. All those Kirby drawings and that's the best you can come up with?? **** me. The rest is near perfect except I would have preferred his flared gloves. The pose is fantastic and the cloth and cape is perfect. ****- someone has got to come up with a better classic mask. Son-of-a-*****!

I think it's just as good as the LSF and better than the original PF. In fact it looks more like the comic book version than either of the other two. The LSF looks more like he's out of Lord of the Rings or something. I even like the new green fabric although that darker trim at the bottom of his tunic makes it look a little like a dress. They ****ed up the classic mask on this new one though. ****ed it royally. First day PO but **** me in the ass!
