Here is an interview with Brant Bridges, Sideshow Collectibles' Production Manager. There's loads of pix too.

Mention of future Lukes...

BB: Never say never. We really didn’t intend for this to be a complete ROTJ Luke, because there are a lot of possibilities with Endor. The helmet, the poncho, the speederbike, Wicket, ewok babies, handcuffs, and much more. He would need an entirely different head in order to fit the helmet, or perhaps two heads so that each would look ‘normal’ whether or not the helmet was on (read – no helmet hair). In any event, another version of Jedi Luke is a long way down the road. There are too many other characters to tackle!

Mention of "arm length" to be addressed...

RS: In hindsight, would you have liked to see anything changed?

BB: Of course, we’re always reviewing our products for ways we could have made the figure better, and we’re scanning the forums to see what the general consensus is. Perhaps we can tighten the hand connection, and I’m sure we can improve on the arm length for future ‘short’ figures. But all in all, we are very proud of Luke.

Always good to read stuff coming from Brant. Who has been too quiet around here lately.

Outrageous number of pics there, too! This guy was obviously having fun! I think he posed Luke in just about every position form the film! He even went so far as to use his own hand as the rancor's to pick luke up.

Great interview, lots of good info.

Now when can we buy a replacement short body with short arms? :chew

The interview was great, of course. It was good to hear some important questions answered. However the pictures were amazing. If anybody was on the fence about this figure should look at the pix!!!:monkey5 :monkey5 :monkey5

I got this off of the rebelscum gallery. For some reason, I really love this pic:

Luke:[worried]JESUS!!!! Is that you?!! [/worried]

Great interview and the pics are great. I would love to pose my Luke like those but I get made fun of by my husband. I can hear him now..."You are not going to actually play with that are you?" We are on opposite shifts soon and the playing shall commence. :chew

This is Luke's big solo number from the end of act 1 of "Jedi! A Musical by Andrew Loyd Webber". It is titled "I Kissed My Sister."

It's good that Sideshow are taking note of things like the arm issue with Luke and hopefully we'll see an improvement to future "short" figures so that a body swap is possible. The arm issue seems worse in some poses than others from the pics I've seen but until I have the figure in hand I can't make a proper judgment. Unfortunately Sideshow are dragging their feet with the EU shipping and at this rate I'll be lucky to get my Jedi Luke this side of Christmas:tap :tap :tap.

THIS is very good to hear. I love the fact that they can see flaws & actually want to correct them...
Way to go sideshow.

Agreed Super Serg. I also like how they address the comments regarding Jedi Luke's expression on his face...

"Mat and the team felt strongly that this version of Luke needed to expose his humanity, his thoughtfulness, his wisdom. Perhaps a future version of Luke will focus more on his grit and determination."

I hope that grit and determination will be seen on the Bespin Luke from ESB!

:D

I agree SS about SSC actually paying attention and being able to see that it was a mistake. It would be nice if they would sell a short body with correct arm length for those of us who wouldn't mind paying for one. I would gladly pay another 25 bucks for another body with shorter arms. I can handle paying some seamstress for tailoring the clothes properly. Good interview.

I would be ecstatic if Sideshow would sell Art S. Bucks of ALL their body styles. I have a long list of figures I'd love to make if only I had a spare Big Boy, FVJ, Hellboy, or short male body. Sigh.:emperor
