Agree with this wholeheartedly. no matter how well done a custom is, I just like licensed products so much more...
I think NECA would do a great job, as would Hot Toys with a john marston figure.

We feel over in our thread that we're going to get a GREAT custom head sculpt from Sunohc, and the custom gun rig from Stevostoys that will beat any "mass-produced" figure out there! I'll show off my finished John Marston figure here is this thread with great pride once it is finished.

I really don't like Neca and sadly they do seem to get a lot of licenses that I like. Every Neca piece I've owned has had shoddy paint apps and crappo parts that broke either in shipping or when I tried to pose them. I won't ever buy anything from them again. Hot Toys would be great - but I just don't see it happening.
So I'm excited for a custom of Marston....I don't have skills to customize my own so I've got someone to do it for me and I know it's going to be better than any mass produced product. But to each his/her own.

I favor Neca over McFarlane(especially for how far their product lines have expanded), though Neca does have some really cruddy paint applications to a good chunk of a production run, their figures though are no where close to how brittle McFarlane's were from years ago.

Pretty close to the end, there's 3 or 4 missions for each of the family members, you can plow through them in a hour or so. They're all really easy, it kinda mirrors the beginning of the game.
