I hardly ever roam in Free Roam, too many A-Holes out to ruin the fun of it. I usually just go straight into a game and don't bother riding around.

I do however try to do hideouts by myself, you can get some pretty heft XP doing that. In one day I went from a 21 to a 26!

Don't forget that you can set up a private free roam multiplayer game; you aren't forced to play with those idiots. Once in free roam, just hit "select" and choose the option for a private free roam session.

SP is great! MP sucks bad since it still seems broken. Not sure when they'll get it fixed so everyone can play all the time but I'm about to trade this in.

It's a double XP weekend for Multiplayer this weekend. I'm planning on going into Private Free Roam and grinding out some hideouts. Fingers crossed that I get Legendary by the end.

Yeah I found out about the spawn sniping... I tried MP for the first time the other night and on my first spawn, got dropped instantly.
Managed to take the jack-holes out after that though. I actually targeted the guy who dropped me on that spawn and kept popping him until he dropped out.

Apparently, when you see someone and you aim, if you lightly tap up as you shoot, you score a headshot. Works in SP and MP and does not require dead-eye.

Red Dead Redemption 'Liars & Cheats' DLC Out Next Month
Written Friday, August 27, 2010 By Richard Walker

Hold on to your cowboy hats, because there's more Red Dead Redemption premium DLC on the way in the 'Liars & Cheats Pack', which expands the multiplayer and free-roam even further with online gambling and more.

So, you can play poker and liars' dice with your friends online and take them (or get taken) to the cleaners. Then there's multiplayer horse racing with mounted combat, which should be utterly mental. Here's the complete list of new stuff you'll find in the pack:

Multiplayer Poker and Liars' Dice Games - One of the most fan-requested features comes to multiplayer.
Multiplayer Horse Races - Ride out against your friends and foes online - with mounted combat guns blazing.
The Explosive Rifle - A devastatingly destructive new weapon with its own new single-player and multiplayer challenges.
7 New Gang Hideouts - Posse up and take on the new Hideouts together to level up quickly.
4 New Hunting Grounds - New Hunting Grounds are now visible on the map for all to see, with some of the most action-packed wildlife hunting yet.
Stronghold Competitive Multiplayer Mode - Teams take turns in attack and defense in multi-tiered Competitive games. Posse Scoring and Leaderboards enable you to compare stats with other posses and compete to see who are the kings of the Free Roam frontier.
But that's not all! The DLC will also add another 15 multiplayer characters from the Red Dead Redemption storyline and all-new achievements.

Look out for the Red Dead Redemption Liars & Cheats Pack on the Xbox Live Marketplace from September 21st, 2010 for 800 Microsoft Points.

Josh and Dee you guys got rid of this too soon.

I'm really bummed at this "due to the platform networks’ restrictions on numbers of free packs" bit they talk about.

I'd heard that X-Box Live has restrictions on free DLC (that's why L4D DLC is free on PC and paid on console). I hope it was just that it wasn't fair to charge XBOX gamers for the DLC and not PSN, so they just made a charge for both consoles, cuz if Sony is limiting the amount of free DLC, I'm gonna be pissed.

I don't understand why either Microsoft or Sony would limit the amount of free stuff a developer could offer. What business is it of theirs??

They're not abbreviated M$ for nothing.

A lot of their pricings and policies should be considered criminal!

Finally just beat the SP, great game, even though some of the missions at the end were a little boring...but I understand their point in the story, especially after "really" beating it.

I will be picking this DLC up next week. Lonnie its time to buy this game.

I LOL'd at the Explosive Rifle blowing up that cougar.

F'n cougars.

This pack has a lot in it, looks like it might actually be worth it. Still wish the hideouts were the free DLC

Red Dead's Liars & Cheats' Horse Races Are Like Road Rash But on Horses
Written Monday, September 20, 2010 By Dan Webb

When Rockstar announced that this week's Liars & Cheats DLC was coming with horse-races, I immediately pictured mini-John Marstons racing around the plains in small helmets with chequered tops on. Unfortunately, that's not the case, instead, you're getting Road Rash... on horses.

Supporting up to 8 players, each contest consists of 3 to 5 races in a cup-style tournament format with players getting points depending on where they finish.

Boring, right? Well, how about if you factor in the fact that it'll have mounted combat as well, meaning what we're essentially playing is Road Rash, but on horses. Huzzah!

Races will kick off with a "brief period of calm" before players can finally whip out their weapons and deal some damage.

To make things more interesting, players will have a fixed amount of guns and ammo per race and auto-targeting will be turned off. However, kill your opponent and not only will he respawn with a small time penalty, but you can also pick up his weapons and ammo as you run over his cold, dead corpse.

Can anyone say "hell yeah"?

Red Dead Redemption's Liars & Cheats DLC is out tomorrow for 800 Microsoft Points.
