I hope they use the same factory they used for Machiko :lecture

I don't Machiko isn't that good. It's a pretty damn simple paint job and the paint on the head isn't that great with a fair amount of over spill. Also ffs change the decals so they don't look like her soul was sucked out.

I'm gonna laugh really hard when this sells out sooner than expected

even if it does, jump on the wl and you are guaranteed one as long as it's not like 3 months before release :<

$550 is expensive for this.

People are saying it's still half what XM charges is incorrect. $550 USD is around the price of an XM statue. XM statues are expensive in the US because they are imports and only for the Asian market. You are paying for the shipping and the commision to the reseller. XM statues are also free of quality control issues and they match the prototype. AND they are limited to under 999 which increases costs. Anyone care to guess what the ES on this will be for the regular and Ex? It will be a LOT more than 999.

Also people haven't mentioned how the Red Sonja license is not going to cost anywhere near what a Marvel, DC or Star Wars license will cost so it shouldn't cost more even if it is more detailed.

Personally i think it's a beautiful statue. I am worried about the paint because the previous RS looked dead. I am also not a fan of the gore and i HATE snakes. Even dead ones! I'll wait to see the production version. I prefer 2 swords anyway and being International it would be an expensive mistake if the paint is like the previous one.

Oh come on now.

How many people are getting pieces from them on here at those prices? I don't care what retail is in Singapore, since most of us are not in Asia. Second, they are far from perfect. Peeps that ordered ant man from bbts are wondering if they will ever see the corrected head, you know because the one they shipped is both blonde and brown haired. They make mistakes too.

So tiring seeing the same tripe repeated ad naseum.

Also, XM's ES are low because that's what their current market will bear. If you think XM has the same amount of customer demand as Sideshow, and would not sell 5000 of each statue if they could then you are in dreamland.

Theyre also trying that porous skin tone effect again. Last time I saw that was on the Dutch Schaefer PF and most didn't like it

I hope she doesn't turn out like Dutch. As much as I love that piece the arms look bad close up.
Doesn't look like she will, from the pictures it's a very subtle effect.

If this can be of any relief: Harbottle sculpted skin pores on all of his pieces, check the ones from Gentle Giant (Maggie, Artemisia, the other guy from 300, and so on). He's good at it, he dosed the amount of texturing perfectly on the other female figures, no amount of screw up from the factory can take this detail away. Makes life easier for the painters (including the eventual painter who will have to do the custom paint job, lol).

Essentially what people are saying is that SS is overcharging. Yes they pay more, but they expect a better product for it. If SS produced Marvel stuff like that nobody would go to XM in these regions. Hell Igo himself once said on the other forum that he was looking forward to seeing XM's honeymoon period be over where people would get over them and back to SS. It didn't happen, because they are just better. Was their hulk better? No, and you can see the results, it didn't sell as well. Pretty much anything XM has done that SS has done, XM has done better. People also have a lot more faith in them.

And not getting the replaced head from BBTS (which prob will happen) isn't exactly XM's fault, the are replacing them.

Most XM stuff isn't better

1. XM said they will replace the Ant-Man head. Why would they not after publically saying so? They haven't broken their word before.

2. Buying an XM peice and buying a Sideshow piece at $550 will work out about the same for international buyers after shipping, taxes and fees. It's just people in the US are not used to paying these extra fees collectors around the world have to pay.

Don't get me wrong i LOVE Sideshow. Overall they are probably my favourite company, even now. They just need to get back to what made them great in the first place.

Of course not. Sideshow is 20 years old. XM is the new kid. Not 5000 but they could certainly sell more than 999. Their statues sell out on the site in minutes and that's only because they are limited to a few countries unlike Sideshow. Go look at the video on youtube of STGCC where they were selling preorders for Ghost Rider. It went round the convention hall on the first day. They had to count people and cut them off instead of having them wait all day for nothing.

Ink, do you own an xm piece?

You're wasting your time and getting into an unnecessary fight, mate. To put it shortly, Ink works for Sideshow, or acts like someone who works for Sideshow. And not in a pleasant way, as you can see.

Racetrack, here above, is 100% right. At this point, for international customers, there's barely any difference in pricing between Sideshow and XM. Darkseid PF ends up costing as much as Thanos XM, to mention one. This Red Sonja ends up costing more than Wolverine XM. Even buying locally the Regulars is getting less and less affordable, Loki retails at 480$, here retails at an average of 580$.
For US customers it's different, they can get Sonja for 590$ delivered and that's one thing, while most XM pieces end up in the high 800$ range.
I think we will have a better comparison for the Top Cow license, that will be regularly imported worldwide. It depends on retail price, but I'm pretty sure that something like Witchblade will end up at around 600$ through BBTS. That's a fair comparison with Red Sonja, overall - female characters, detailed sculpt and bases, and so on.

We can get XM delivered for $40?

I personally have zero interest in XM statues, prefer human/movie characters.
Seems that flippers like them most :rolleyes2
