Lonnie, you illustrate perfectly why they haven't done Shinji yet! At least as far as I'm concerned! Shinji's just not a character one can't fully identify with, at least not in public! Shinji ain't no Boromir, Aragorn, Luke, Han, Speed racer, Batman, or what ever hero that comes up into your mind. He's just an other teenager having trouble growing up, cursed with the ability to pilot one of those Eva monsters... Still, I like him!

I like him... he's just a bit too whiney for me! :monkey5

No, it's just that horny fanboys (otakus) want the girls.:monkey1 Shinji has barely any merchandise, mostly some gashapon/trading figures, yet he is the main character.

Ok, you got me... I'll admit it... I'm a horny fanboy!!! :rotfl

Asuka and Rei have arrived today. I just finished checking them, and I'm not to happy. Overall they really look fantastic, but The problem lies in the details. The finishing off is terrible IMO. At least for a $115 12" figure.

Asuka has a big dim spot on her chest, as if someone had spilled glue on it, and than tried to wipe it off. The gloss is just gone. And I think that those two breast cups she wears are not symmetrical. It looks as if two right (or two left) shaped breast plates where glued onto her suit, in stead of a left and a right one. Lonnie, could you please check that on your Asuka?? Are the breast cups symmetrical, or identical?? I'm contacting SSC SC about this and will ask them for a replacement.
Rei is ok, more or less. Looks like she's assembled pretty lose though... Her right arm came off at the rotating joint, right under the shoulder, but I could fix that in a sec. I just had to push the arm back in space. When I had a closer look at her interchangeable hands, the entire wrist joints came off! But that too is no real problem. You just stick it back into the arm. There's also a tiny spot (of glue) on the back of her arm...
Lonnie looks like you are right to be very selective about Medicom figures. They may look very cool, but the finishing off is a disaster. For $115 one may expect to get good quality, right?

great to hear you got yours Alice..sucky aboot the little problems you had.Hope you can it sorted out.I love mine.
I maybe in minority aswell but I want a shinji done aswell

I'll get a replacement for the damaged Asuka. Got the news yesterday. Again it shows, that it really pays to buy direct from SSC. Selling great items is one thing, but giving your customers also a great service, that is something else. That's special. Thank you, sideshow!

Oh, Lonnie! Thanks! :D

As for the pictures... some day I'll figure out how to post these suckers. :D

go to photobucket and register for free. Only takes couple of minutes. Then download your pics and copy and paste the link. (lmg) :D

...just want to see some pics. I saw these at the con and they look great.

I was roaming the net for a Naomi Armitage 12", and here's what I found:

Not sure if this Rei is really essential to have (considering the Medicom prices), but it shows that the NGE line is not dead, and that we may hope to see other characters from that OVA. If only Medicom would do an Armitage...
Do you think a Rei/Asuka body could be used to make a Armitage Custom?

anyone interested: sorry for the blurryness.

it is by Koto.

It's about 10 cm in height. So I estimate the figures are probably about 6" scale, maybe a bit smaller... I've noticed that nice statue also. And it's not expensive. I'd never buy it though: their pose is nice and sexy, but it hardly correlates with their characters. In fact, those two can't stand each other in the series. Rei is virtually incapable to express any emotion, while Asuka is incapable to control hers. I don't think this is a representative pose. A fanboy's wildest dream though!

it sure is my friend. it sure is...:banana

...seriously, not really sure though. It looks nice. You get two figures for one price. Maybe later on. I saw the advent children figures they had and they look amazingly detailed. I may get the Final Fantasy line before this line.

Do you have any pics of the FF line, Toe??

They sure could. Me, I'm waiting and hoping for an Armitage. Is there a customer out there that could make one??
