No man, Parasyte was a manga from the '90's. It has nothing to do with Squaresoft's Parasite Eve games. Crapcom stole the design of the Parasyte for the Las Plagas first form, and Krauser's arm is also stolen from a character in the same manga.
Crapcom didn't know how to continue Resident Evil's storyline so they just get rid of Umbrella in the opening cutscene and turned RE4 into a Parasyte ripoff. Then they kill off Spencer in a cutscene in 5, then turn Wesker into a cliche cartoon/comic book villain and kill him off. Once again, I hate Capcom so much. Konami pretty much did the same thing with Silent Hill, turned it into a parody of itself. Then EA turns Dead Space into a crappy action game in the third game like Capcom did with RE6. Horror games have really gone downhill. And it can all be traced back to RE4. That was the beginning of the end of survival horror. Alien Isolation was pretty good though.
Ironwez20 we obviously are gonna have to agree to disagree, depending on the enemy the classic, real RE game were plenty fast paced. Go play Dead Space for really fast enemies and combat.
You're right that REAL Resident Evils weren't really about the shooting. It was about strategic survival, dodging enemies was more important than FPS style shooting galleries and precision aiming. Atmosphere was also important. So was actually being creative with the enemies. That's what I miss about the classics. Creativity. Music. Atmosphere. Completely missing after 4. At least 4 had good boss fights. That's the only praise I can give it.
