PS: I have to admit, I never saw RE:2 or RE:3 in its entirety. :lol

PSS: Now that I think of it, I never saw RE:1 in its entirety. :rotfl

re 4 didnt suck if your talkin bout that, and no claires in the movie but actually the whole jumping out the window bit was the cliare clones.

Ignoring the fact that they veered away from the games, I enjoyed Resident Evil a lot. I also liked the sequel for a pure entertainment perspective. Three was just BAD, I watch it for mindless fun but it is still bad. I dug the desert scenes and survival aspect but other than that...wow.

In my opinion, it did. The story went stupid and it had zero survival horror like the original series. Yes I know with now a day games the other way probably wouldn't sell well but it just ruined the amazing feel and vibe the original series had. So yes, RE4 sucked TO ME.

I saw RE:3 was on TBS the other day and I watched about 30 minutes of it, then got sidetracked. I know they have the Trilogy box set at Target for $20, so I've been wanting to buy it. I figured it's worth the $20, no?

Hmmm yea, to me re4 was somthing new to the franchise that needed somthing new and introduced new gameplay and had the unique time button system, but then came RE5 which in my opnion was a bad game and wasnt even a sequal it was the same thing and judging by earlier trailers the game looked epic but it turned out to be a action resident evil movie with no creepy feel to it. The 4th one had action but it stayed creepy at the same time which was great.

To bad the movie sucks anyway tho.

thats not a second alice thats actually clare redfield.

to me it looks like another Alice clone.

Not sure if I'm understanding your last sentence correctly, but it was Alice that has all the clones not Claire.

No if you look closely thats claire who fights the guy with the axe and its claire whos seen 90 percent of the time with alice, but its a clone that jumps out the window with alice tho.

I had to read the begining credit sequence twice as I saw James Cameron's name there. I was wondering what on earth he was doing making Resident Evil 4 until I realised they were using his new 3D camera system.

Ugh here's the trailer for it...

Bleh. The Executioner is the only good looking thing about this movie. I also agree with whoever said Wesker dosn't look nearly as cool as he did in the initial pic. And what the hell is with Alice throwing shurikens and weilding katanas? Lame!

Also am I the only one who thinks Wesker looks too youngish?

RE4 is my favorite game of all time (with the remake at a VERY close 2nd) so I respectfully disagree with your opinion but I do see what you are saying. To me I feel RE4 had enough survival horror to satisfy me (I love the begginning when you enter the village and you hide in the house while the Ganados are screaming at you in spanish then hear the chainsaw rev up) but I will admit toward the end when you get to Saddler's Island it did cease to have a survival horror feel to it. I'll also admit most of the monster with the exception of the Regenerators and Iron Maiden and Garridors wern't as "nightmarish" either.

yeah i thought that when i read about the casting. I looked up the actor, and immediately thought...hmm he's kinda young. But alas i shall hold final judgment till i see the movie.

Definitely to each their own but your points are exactly how I feel. Major lack of survival horror. I also disliked the inventory system and how you could basically buy new weapons at check points.

The Resident Evil name is no longer residing at a high point in fan reception with both the film series and the latest game, RE5.

The positive upside to this is that after the less-than-absolutely-stellar reception of RE5 and the abomination that RE:Afterlife looks to be, Capcom and the film industry will be coerced into no other option but to completely overhaul both the game and film franchise.

Ugh...RE: Afterlife looks so, so terrible. The only redeeming value for me is Ali Larter (as Claire). She's very pretty. At the least she'll distract my eyes in the scenes she's in.

I believe it was Jun Takeuchi or something else who said, before RE5 came out, that the next game in the series would be a completely revamped game style to change it up. Hopefully they add the survival horror elements back into the game.
