^^^gotcha. did you get the Wii version??? i think the gamecube is a little easier to get into because of the controls. i just couldn't get the hand of the wii for some reason.

is this fact from comparison?? (trying not to fuel another debate)

Yes, there was an article about it from Eurogamer

The engine is the MT Framework which was used on other Capcom games like Lost Planet, Dead Rising, and Devil May Cry 4. It was first built to be made on the PC which could then easily go to the Xbox 360, then they later worked on support for PS3. On the Xbox 360 version it has 4x Anti-Aliasing, the PS3 has 2x, and when things get busy they have it setup to change the AA setting to make it run smoothly still, so the PS3 will turn it off completely and the Xbox will turn it down to 2x then off. The Xbox version also has some extra effects (especially water) that look better. And that's purely because it was developed for it more.

Lame. :monkey4

But hey--Yesterday Crytek announced their new CryEngine 3 which has support for both Xbox 360 and PS3, so that should be the big next step in graphics.

EDIT: Also just to note--I was watching the Gametrailers video review and they said the cutscenes are pre-recorded---that is not true, they are entirely in-engine in real-time.

I built my gaming pc last summer around the ability to run CryEngine 2 smoothly! I haven't heard much about CE3, but I heard that it'll be architecturally frugal compared to CE2, meaning it'll perform better without big sacrifices to visual fidelity.

I had always thought the MT Framework engine was built from the ground up for development on Xbox 360, seeing as most of the games built upon it were Xbox 360 timed exclusives. Lost Planet 2 uses an upgraded form of MT F, and it looks great so far (as well as being a 360 exclusive).

Given the origin of MT F, I wonder why RE5 isn't coming out for PC. It must be a financial thing.

I'm assuming the the PC version of RE4 sold very poorly. The review scores for it were certainly poor with terrible controls being the biggest complaint. That could have something to do with the lack of a PC release for RE5. Or it could just not be announced yet. RE4's PC version did not come out until long after the GCN and PS2 versions.

^^^i don't think any of the RE games came out on the PC the same day as consoles. how can they mess up controls on it?? there are USB controllers that have been out for years. heck i love the fact that you can use a 360 controller on most new games.

I remember trying RE4 on pc a while back. The textures that looked good on the Gamecube looked absolutely terrible in a high resolution and clarity that PCs offer over consoles.

I'm guessing CE3 will be slightly improved graphics for the PC version and generally just run better, and then be able to run on the consoles.

I'm sure RE5 will be on PC at some point, but they were probably focusing on the console versions. Plus it's really easy to pirate PC games so they're probably hoping pirates will just buy the console version since the PC version isn't out then once they release the PC version all the people with PC's who wanted it will be able to get it.

I really wish though that there was a set of mod tools for RE5--the graphics are amazing and perfect for a project I'm working on. But for the time being I'll stick with CryEngine 2.

i ordered from Amazon with "release date delivery" and they haven't shipped it yet....i'm getting worried. :monkey1

EDIT: Shipped, will be here tomorrow..can't wait!!

I am playing this game now more last night and i noticed, some parts are exactly like Ninja Blade..if you ever played this game for 360..some parts of RE5 is a one button or two, based timed attack or counter..it plays out in like a cutscene..this game is defintely getting better as i go on and on, graphics and water effects/liquid are amazing.
