An easy way to get some extra cash is at the begginnig of the game when you fight all the villagers and the Exicutioner, kill the Exicutioner then pick up the Gold Ring he drops and pick up the Scorpion (VZ61) and what ever cash dead Majini drop and before the cut scene quit the game and sell all the VZ61 and the ring and then when you continue the game it will start off right before the fight you just had and you can keep killing the Exicutioner and picking up the ring he drops and the VZ61 and just keep selling them. The Gold Ring itself is worth $5,000 and the gun $200.

And if you don't want to keep doing that you can go to 3-1, there's $2,000 worth of stuff right there (a ruby and a brown beetle) and after you grab those leave the game and then load it up again and you can keep doing that for easy money.

Here is my run:

I make sure Chris and Sheva both have at least 3 empty slots each to carry the stuff I pick up. You really only need a pistol as you'll only be firing two shots the whole time. Start by running up and knifing the skull to drop the gem, knife the two pots for their junk and turn around and run to the other side by the fence and there is a brown beetle. Hop on the boat and head to the far right side of the map. Jump in the water and avoid the crocs because they waste ammo and can kill you in one hit while you run to your left and grab the brown beetle off the tree by the wall. Then run towards the entrance to the building while avoiding crocs and there is a ruby right by the entrance that takes you to the ladder that leads out of the water. You don't need to go to the ladder, just right by the opening in the water that leads under the elevated house. Run back to the boat and when you get on turn and you'll see a tree in the water surrounded by barriers. Go to the tree and look for a brown beetle there. Sheva should automatically grab it. Now to to the north side of the map and run up to the first thing you see and shoot the gem off the skull there, grab it, and bash the pots. Then turn to your right and there is another skull on the top of the building at the turn in the road. Grab that one and head to the end of the path where the two towers with broken ladders are. Boost Sheva up the one on your LEFT for a silver idol. DO NOT do the one on the right as it is a quest piece that you do not need and it will alert the enemies. Go back to the boat and drive to the island in the middle of the map. On the island are chickens. Go to your left after leaving the dock and there is another beetle on the fence there. Now run to the right of the building and grab the two white eggs and then go inside the building for a pot and a chest with a silver chalice in it. Now go out and hop the fence and bash the pot for some goodies and look around the island to see if any chickens have dropped any eggs. I usually get at least a white one from them but browns are common sometimes and occasionally they'll drop a gold. Sheva is usually good about picking them up for you. Check the water area by the canoe in the water as some chickens like to hang out there and lay eggs in the water. Jump back on the boat and look at your map. Over by the upper left side island is a small little line. Go there as it is a wrecked fishing ship and has goodies on it. Right after you park run straight onto the boat and you'll find another brown beetle in the water. Bash the pot by the mast and then grab the rocket launcher out of the chest. It sells for 1000. Go back to the boat and then go to your right to the island there. Hop off and run under the hut's roof and bash that pot. Then run out to the path and look to your right and you'll see a small pool of water. Jump in and immediately turn around and you'll see another beetle by the ladder that leads out of the water. Jump back on the path and climb the ladder to the tower and grab the silver chalice from the chest. Now jump down and get back on the boat. Drive to the long pathway that is on the lower left side of the map. You can't miss it on the map as it is the one that has the island far off the map away from the rest of the others. Drive there and dock and run up the steps. DO NOT GO IN THE BUILDINGS! It will alert the enemy. Just run to the middle and grab the silver idol from the chest, bust the pots nearby and hit start, quit, save and you are done. You should end up with:

2 silver chalices
2 silver idols
6 brown beetles
2 ruby
1 emerald
1 rocket launcher
at least 2 white eggs
and various other ammo and stuff you collected

All that will net you about 15,000 and once you do it a few times and get your pattern down you can do the run in about 7.5 minutes. Select that chapter, sell what you grabbed from your previous run, do it again.

good game...nothing thats made me sit back and think 'wow' yet though, and im up to chapter 4. Nothing thats blown my head off and made me think "i'm going back to that bit as soon as ive completed this"

shame.

Still only on 3-1, went back to start collecting some BSAA badges for awhile.

Got past the boat section, but had some trouble with the next part after. Although I did it once, but the two baddies there drained most of all my ammo, ended up stopping cause I figured I could do better the next go around.

I finished and have about 35 achievements so far.

I really like the Wesker fight at the end. I guess he's finally gone. Took a lot of games but they finally killed Wesker. Liked the Revenge of the Sith Mustafar style the end had going there. Always a volcano around when you need one.

You know what I kinda missed in this game? Traditionally most RE games once you get to the end or very close to the end, the area your in is set to blow up and you have a limited amount of time to get out safely, but this one didn't have that at the end.

Yeah! Those countdown sequences were great! They were tense even though most of the time they give you more than enough time to escape.

Anyway, I finished RE5 a couple hours ago on my own. I only died once throughout the entire game, but Sheva died a few times because she constantly runs into danger. I plan on playing it through a couple more times with my friends (which I'm already doing concurrently when they're available). Being able to sit next to a friend on the same couch and scream at each other for dying is priceless. Aside from that I won't be playing it again by myself, I'm not an achievement hound and I don't have the time to burn anymore.

I thought about doing those exploits to get unlimited money, but that would ruin the fun the first time through. What's the point if you're so overpowered that the tension is gone? I will take advantage of it for subsequent run throughs though.

Yeah I only died twice my first time around. First by getting eaten by one of the giant crocodiles because I wasn't paying attention, and second a certain someone knocked me into a river of lava.

Obi Wan is in this game?! Thanks for the spoiler warning!:monkey4
:lol
I'm hoping to pick this up this week...had a busy weekend.
How does it compare to pt. 4 overall?

Finished it last night. Very fun game. Took me just under 12 hours to beat so not too bad on game length. Kain and I have managed to get most of the achivements working over Live Party and started last night in co-op we managed to get a couple more. We're going to go at this game on the last two difficulty levels together as we both agree it will make it easier.

Yeah we need to go back and get the BSAA emblems off of those early missions.

I finished it yesterday and started a New Game + on Veteran. Concentrating on Emblems and weapon upgrades this time through. Havent tried Mercenaries yet, cant wait!

I ^^^^ing love this game, taking it slow though as I don't want the experience to be over so fast. Veteran is a bit of a ^^^^^, but I refuse to play any game on anything less than the hardest difficulty. I look forward to doing co-op after I finish it up on Vet though.

The cut scenes and graphics are so bad ass and I love how later in the game you get a big dose of RE nostalgia with the Labs. The story ties in nicely with other games too which is great.
