Despite what we fans may think, I think this is awesome. It'll let Capcom know that we actually hate the CoD/Battlefield type of game they're marketing RE toward. A dude from Giant Bomb (Jeff?) even mentioned that in a dinner conversation with Capcom, all Capcom would ask him about was CoD and Battlefield. Capcom deserves this beatdown, honestly, for betraying their cult fanbase and catering to the brofest with cheap imitations.

Wow, now that's some crappy reviews there.

I've played the PS3 demo and wasn't very impressed either. I felt that my one of my favorite franchises has turned into a run n' gun shoot em' up, versus the old school survival horror I grew up with.

But, the reviews that you all are saying makes me think other wise. I may have to buy this and see for myself.

A 4.5 ???!!!!!! for this game??? Yea right. The controls are tight the sense of dredd is everywhere and the game is fun as hell. Seems like the game reviewers wanted to be on the safe side and give this game a bad score since they gave RE5 such good scores. The city level is to awesome. Im in a cavern now. Dont understand the hate toward this at all.

...Operation Raccoon Citys controls were much tighter and wouldve suited this game better. Add the dive shoot to ORC and it would be a done deal. Quick shoot sucks here but i love the handgun secondary thing in ORC and that wouldve been fantastic in 6.

I just finished the Leon campign and I liked it but It didnt touch re4 I will say that the the city segments are outstanding I would have loved for them to just stay in the city. We will see how sales go. mark my words that if the sales arent as good as RE5 then the next game will be scary. But then again this is RE and people love RE. Now where are my HT.

It wasnt that bad. it was never meant to be taken seriously which is why I enjoyed it, from the start we were told this is a game where you can change the future, it has no impact on any canon, its not even meant to be canon. its a fun little modernised story with some crap AI but some awsome moments.

RE6 however, said that it was going back to its survival horror routes but unfortunatly, for an hour and a half, then youve got a crap COD rip off with stupid set pieces and alot of lame ness. Which is opposite to what it was advertised as.

I prefer operation Raccoon City to Chris' campaign put it that way.

So basically the fact that the gaming industry has become so big and mainstream that people who have been playing games for near on 25 years say goodbye to Quality titles in favour of ones that are rushed out and generic to appeal to the masses? Yep. Thought so.

I finished Leon's campaign last night, I played through it non-stop. Man what a blast! Though I do miss the challenging puzzles and sense of dread the early titles had, I felt overall it had a lot of great elements. I really love how things intersect as well. It's funny, but I think Leon has become the coolest guy in the franchise at this point. He's a bad ass now. I'm going to try to tackle Chris' campaign tonight, but last night I was up until 4am.. so not sure I can pull that off again, lol.

it would be stupid they put themselves out of business or at a serious financial risk trying to please the niche group of hardcore RE fans still " hanging in there " after 7 years of moaning RE isnt the same anymore. re4 came out in 2005 and that is when survival horror for RE died. They even said back then what they are saying now about needing to appeal to the more mainstream masses. No point banging on about it.

Complete the new game, find out what our characters are up to and then go back to playing pre-re 4 RE like i will be. And i assume most every other RE fan will be.

it took me just over 19 hours to complete all 4 campaigns. And i wasnt speed-running, nor was i taking my time.
