He's the fan favorite, but not the favorite of Capcom. It's been stated by them that the developers prefer him.

I think since 98 he's had a black cloud over his head. All his team mates seem to die or get captured and he's helpless against it.
I think the Main of the Main characters needs a break and they need to bring back old blood like Barry etc.
But if they just want to keep this the Chronicles of Kennedy and Redfield I would pick Leon since another Chris game would just be over the top action and flexing biceps...

I don't want anyone to take a break. I just want them to bring back more existing characters. Keep Chris and Leon in the next game, but bring back people we haven't seen in a while. We all know who they are.

I don't know why Capcom is making him such a tragic character... I didn't mind him him in RE1 and CV. But from RE5 onward their trying to turn him into this angry superhero
I think if you give him a break and bring him back in a game or two maybe he will get past this dark brooding phase and maybe I will like him.

capcom should stop making new characters, RE already has enough protagonists, Claire will show up soon I'm sure

Indeed. I liked Chris in RE1, CV/X and even RE5 but yeah, dark brooding Chris is getting a little old especially 2 games in a row.

Too bad his name was never cleared and he's been declared dead. Unless he came back with a "new identity". Personally I think Billy got the shaft, he's too awesome to be in only one game.

He was just a kid in RE2, he changed but not THAT much, I'm just saying its not the same as Chris
Agreed.
I think he's got the best of both Chris and Leon. Strength and Charisma.
Chris only changed after CV and he's been the same since.

I would really like to see Jake get his own game without any partners tagging along with him. I certainly hope they don't just use him for one or 2 games and then toss him aside like they have with so many others.
I honestly think Wesker's death left a big hole in the series and they needed to continue his spirit in some way. I can't see them ignoring him, especially since he was a "Main" in this game.
