Not necessarily. It's quite different from those in a lot of ways.

If you're a fan of the series I say go for it especially since I've seen new copies of the game for around $30. However it is far from being a masterpiece so just don't expect to much from this game.

I'm definetly a "softcore" fan I would say. For example, I only played RE4 and 5, and none of the older releases. But 4 was super fun, and 5 was the same thing, maybe slightly less fun (since the gameplay is pretty much a repeat to someone like me).

Is 6 bad because the storyline is terrible, or is the gameplay actually worse compared to the previous two installments?

Story is the weakest in the main series and there are alot of annoying quick time events but overall the gameplay is the same. You can move and shoot at the same time now though. If your not concerned about the story and you enjoyed RE4 and 5, I say give this one a chance.

RE4 practically had no story, more of a sidestory if anything. RE5 got back to the main story continued off from Code Veronica.

I do appreciate that it was a conclusion to the Mansion storyline, it's just ENOUGH already with the Zombies with guns Capcom

I love Re 5, theres something about it thats so addicting. Pop them in the eye, run up and punch a crowd of them down. stompstompstomp & to the ones getting up shotgunshotgunshotgun

I find nothing more satisfying than choosing barry for mercs reunion, doing the gun bash and hitting more than one majini with the animation because they are crowded around. Or doing the tornado spin and taking out a crowd of monsters/majini in one go

Don't forget all the blue and green fire, zelda dungeons and traps in the castle, laser room shenanigans, etc.

yeah it was freaky they should let the psycho dolls in from 3.5 if i remember right on 4 where the same kind of shooting zombies like on re5..

Both were great, 6 is just meh and the battle music was terrible too.
