Omg... I'm so glad I stopped at RE 4 and didn't play any of the newer games :monkey1.

I think what's best for RE Franchise is to introduce a new Character .. I mean why bring the Previous characters? .. especially when a character like Chris have Beaten Zombies with Guns .. and Giants too .. literally .. so if they wanna go to "survivor horror" Chris won't be scared for whatever facing him .. and Leon too since he took down a T-Rex .

so with a new Character not knowing what's going on is the best Solution .

I wouldn't mind having a new character as long as some of the classic characters appear as well (if only as side characters this time around).

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a new character who is like a rookie BSAA agent or something who is sent on their first mission lead by say Jill or Chris for example (Jill preferably) to investigate BOW activity but your team is ambushed and most are killed and you lose most of your weapons and get separated from your team leader (we'll use Jill as an example) and you go at the game alone (no more co-op) and you can communicate with your team leader (Jill) who will aid you via radio or something and you can even contact Jill and have her give you advice on certain things like puzzles, how to take down certain BOWs etc. Ammo would be scarce. In fact I would actually like to see an RE game where your knife is you most useful weapon (in all previous RE games I've found knives to be awkward to use to downright useless on most enemies).

Also I really hope they keep the creature designs simple. Creatures like Zombies, Mr. X, Lickers and even Dr. Salvador (RE4 Chainsaw guy) are 100x more creepier than a giant fly or T-Rex.

Agreed I feel a reboot is for the best.

I used to be totally against a reboot of the RE games but yeah if they aren't gonna do any more REmakes, a reboot may be the best way to go in order to save this once great series as much as I hate to say it.

If they do reboot the series though, I hope they keep the original designs for the characters and creatures. Imo the designs should be left untouched.

Thats the only reason I was against a reboot, I love the original character designs

Indeed. I wouldn't mind slightly updated looks to the characters like how Leon's RPD uniform is more of a greyish blue in modern RE games compared to bright blue like in the original RE2 or give RE3 Jill combat boots like in the movie but keep the core designs the same and recognizable.

I'm completely against reboots, but the horse that is Resident Evil has suffered enough. It's beyond repair at this point to put a sequel back on track when you have the storylines of RE5-6 still there. I would accept a reboot sequel of a redone RE5 that is the "true" successor to RE4 and the original RE5 never happened... I hope that makes sense.

I dont think Re 5 was bad at all, the graphics were great, the story tied in to both modern and olden RE. The inventory system was really fun, but a step down from Re 4's attach case. The only real critique about the game is from people who dont know you are meant to use Sheva as a tool that you need to learn and control as opposed to leaving her be as an independent thinker.

RE5 is fine in terms of gameplay, although I hated the underground Tomb Raider thing since it went too long. I just think they blew their wad way too early by killing Wesker off.

One of my worst levels in gaming history is from re5 where you are forced to give Sheva a torch and then by end of the level Majini on turrets are shooting you.

And then the Tomb Raider levels are completely stupid with the cavemen Majini. But then, at this point it is after Re 4 which had giant robotic dragon shooting fire at you while you are in a lavapit.

My biggest gripe with RE5 is it lacked any sense of dread, creepyness or intensity not to mention it was way to short (beat it in like 9hrs my very first playthrough and can complete a speed run in 2hrs whereas RE4 still takes me a good 6-7hrs on a speed run).

Re 5 is super short. I played Re 5 a **** ton until i bought a gamecube and played re 4 for the first time and i was gob smacked.

They killed the soul of RE in a game that its just "good".

I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but don't have anything against Sheva, although she killed me more times than Wesker... the only thing that bothers me about that game is that it could have been much better. I still play LiN from time to time

The underground level was filled with puzzles and was creepy as **** in the concept art...
Then they added the co op and that changed everything, that part of the game just turned into an unintresting place you have to visit imo

I still loved the original pre-Sheva concept for RE5 where if you stayed in the sun too long, you would begin to hallucenate. I don't have anything against Sheva and never found her AI as bad as others but she definitely was not needed in the game. Also Jill should have been the one who fired the rockets at Wesker with Chris.

I totally agree with that, it really bothered me when Sheva was there pretending she is important :gah: Jill is Chris's partner, is his all time friend, his only friend. And she was with him at the beginning of the series

Yeah the heat would drive him crazy, that reminds me of RE 3.5, if a game plays with your mind it will be scary

My girlfriend watched me play thru RE5 and she was like WTF when Jill didn't take part in it. Such bad directing.

I felt more emotion between Chris And Piers in 5 chapters of Re 6 than i have between Chris and Jill since they first entered the Arklay mansion. And i dont mean that in some kind of gay way between Chris and Piers.

We all know Chris and Jill are more than just "friends" :monkey1:lol

After the fight with Jill, it would have been nice story and gameplay wise to have Sheva injured in the fight and then have Jill become Chris' partner the rest of the game and on the Desperate Escape DLC Josh and Sheva could have teamed up. That would have been nice especially since Josh and Sheva have some history.
