Really?

Jesus. I'm glad I ended up passing until they add 21:9 support. It's still only $30 for PC, so even with the ugly black bars on the side it should be worth that much.

Restarted the game. Just under halfway through and im at the 1hr 45 mark. You. can really speed through it when you know what your doing

I've not picked this up yet, but have seen play-through videos of the game. Having been a big fan of the first three RE games (1,2 and Nemesis), and played 4 and 5, is there anything in the new one that relates to the first three? (And I don't mean the atmosphere and play style, more the characters, what went before with the Umbrella storyline, etc). I've a feeling I'm going to look forward to RE2 Remake more.
Spoiler tags please (doesn't bother me, but may bother others). Thanks.

Guy claims to be 'Redfield'. End credits list him as Chris Redfield but I think he is someone else. Otherwise there is zero to do with any other RE game, but it opens up a whole new story direction. I hope we dont have to wait long for the next game. There are references. A painting of Spencer Mansion, News report by Alyssa from Outbreak, Book written by O'brien from Revelations. Im sure theres a painting from either Zero or REmake.

If they continue this "storyline" just make it into a spin off or side games. . :lol just give a remake of 3 and Capcom can do whatever the **** they with the series. :lol

Is there even supposed to be stealth? RE has never had stealth, so why are we complaining about that?

This game has major RE vibes to it, especially the save rooms.

Also, I'm not far in the game, but from the beginning I already figured out the story, am I wrong?

Umbrella picked this family as a way to test a new virus which has regenerative capabilities, used them to kidnap people to test on, etc. etc.

Pardon? Ever since the Ps1 era once you enter a area through a load screen Zombies can be stationary allowing you to access the situation. That can be counted as stealth. Then even 4 & 5 where you can sniper and take enemies out 1 by 1 without causing agro to the entire area. Re 6 has stealth play, Adas chapter has heavy stealth play and Re Revelations 2 has a heavy emphasis on Stealth.

That's simply avoiding the enemy, which you can still do. And we're not talking about modern games. 6 is trash and so is REV2.

I think the definition of stealth is lost. Stealth = MGS

While the Molds are interesting... they're kinda dull and I wish there was more enemy variety aside from Jack and them. They're just Regenerators redux.

Yeah, they're ok. They pretty generic when it comes to RE monsters. Theyre basically Leech Marcus. Uroboros. Regenerators and the bloodshot zombies from RE6 all rolled into one. Another sticky noodly black goo monster. Then agan maybe theres a reason for it. Havent gotten far enough yet. I really wish there were some classic monsters in this. Getting hunted by a Hunter like jack pursues you would have been amazing.

Re 6 is trash. Revelations 2 is excellent, and so is the stealth. You cant deny stealth mechanics have been in the franchise for years just because how you feel about the games.

Yeah I hear ya and that's a pretty apt description of them. While the stealth needs work, the minimalist combat and visuals are find though. Although no iron sights seriously blows. Headshots are tedious to land. I believe they can build on this mechanic, but go back to traditional style monsters and classic characters...

RE6's over ambition, over the top action, too many playable characters and piss poor creature design doomed it. There isn't a singular thing it really had going for it... maybe some character designs? The gameplay was interesting, but I've mentioned before you have WAY too much of an advantage over the mundane regular enemies throughout it.

I'm trashing it, but I'm tinkering with the idea of buying it :lol I haven't played it in years now and sorta want to give it another go.

I liked Rev2 and it felt way more relevant to the universe in the games as a whole. I just wish they would stop ****ing with the women's faces in this series.

I own it on ps4 and PC digitally but ill only play maybe 90 minutes a year. And im also considering the Hot Toys, not because i want to support Re 6 but because Leon and Ada are from Re 2 and my love for the game makes me turn a blind eye when it comes to the figures

I'm buying Ada finally this week myself.

Maybe they had Botox or a face lift? :lol

I loved Rev1 on the 3DS but haven't played Rev1 yet. Is it worth picking up on PS4? Would you say it's better than the first?

Rev 2 is great. I think its the best RE since 4. And technically, id say its the best " Resident evil experience " since Code Veronica.
