Hey guys, I was wondering if I could use one of those aftermarket Jill Valentine headsculpts as a replacement for my Viking head, as I think the Viking is not wide enough compared to the game model. I was thinking if the head of those aftermarket heads are removable, then I could use the Viking hair.

I think the something got lost in the molding of the head or something, since she has the right face, but the wrong shape.

I finally got mine all put together and I love it. Thanks CQC for the boiling tip - that worked great! I think that I am destined to pick up that worldbox Nemesis. He should look awesome looming behind my humble RE:1-3 cast.

Uhh, wasn't I who suggested the boiling method?

every Jack & Jill in the hobby long enough would know the water trick, however you risk having water stucked inside the parts resulting possible mold growth in the future, so hairdryer would be a better method.

no Ryan, go back a page bud. i said hot water for 30 seconds, i never did say boiling, i just checked.

ugh, potato. never once have i ever heard of water getting stuck in a figure and making mold. mold accumulates over time from moisture, but would have to be there for a very long while before that happens. i find it really hard to believe that it wouldn't evaporate waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before that happened.

How would you know anything? You don't even collect.

i don't doesn't mean i don't know. electrician use hairdryer to soften the rubber sleeves so they can fit and then dry them up so they shrink to fit. it's not like we're talking about very in depth knowledge about Toys that only people who collect know about it.

depends how tight the connection is, for neck joints there's alot of gap once you manage to slot them in, also don't forget some folks tend to put their figures back in box so the extra humid will contribute to molds, remember all it needs is a few drip of water in a closed box to make them grow.

You're making a big deal of something you have little knowledge about.

-I haven't seen figures taken over by mold.
-Most people don't store their figures in boxes once they've taken them out. Plus, this is a customs thread, and there are no boxes for custom figures.
-Drops of water will evaporate quickly once figures are exposed to air.
-Environmental humidity can cause figures (and certain fabrics) to dry-rot over time, but it's a slow process.

And are you an electrician who "use hairdryer"?

you haven't seen one doesn't mean they don't happen. you probably living in mostly dry weather. even keeping them in cabinet will add up the humid trapped inside if you have done some dust proofing on your cabinets.

hairdryer is what being used, how else would they heat the heat shrink cable sleeves to fit the cable glands? using fire or boiling water as folks suggested?

anyway mold adds natural weathering effects, not always a bad thing especially if you like your figures weathered.

Well, i AM an electrician. I use a torch to shrink the shrink tubing but they do make a heat gun for that, probably that is what youre mistaking for a hair dryer.

Thanks to Pliss for mentioning about the boot strap which I totally missed. Added a stand, widened the hair and repainted the hair and lips.
