We've had that before.
For like 3 scenes locked behind a DLC. Been lots of optional alt suit versions for characters but never on a main playable character that evolves as you play.

Take RE4 for example you lose the jacket early game, gain an optional vest mid game and sustain damage and weathering throughout. RE5 takes that a step further with two optional armours.

I wanna see that same level of treatment for an agent type suit look.

Start in an agent type suit with nice trench coat or something. Lose the coat and tie revealing all the holsters, sheaths and pouches with rolled up sleeves then in the mid game add an optional vest with fingerless gloves and other gear.

It’s not so much the aesthetics that make it RE for me but the evolution. Even Village and 7 attempt this with the damage sustained to Ethan’s hands.

The evolution is a staple of all RE games since the OG RE2 along with two playable characters.

I wish the Master team (Mtoys?) (MTToys???) Chris redfield village figure wasn’t nuts on the secondary market.

Anyone selling him for a reasonable price? Or even just his head sculpt?

I want to kitbash his tactical look with a Phicen M34 and a scratch built chest rig.

If the prime1 RE4 statue was 1/6 and the price reflected that… would be a no brainier instant buy. For that scale and that money it’s not what I’d want from a RE4R Leon despite looking incredible.

What about the lim 1/12 RPD Leon? I know it’s 1/12 but I think Lim nailed the likeness and is far superior to the Dam figure despite the smaller scale.

It still hurts my soul that both the 1/12 RE4 Leon’s got cancelled… the nwtoys outfit with the lim alt sculpt battling the patriot studio chainsaw would have been one hell of a display. Being tempted by the 1/12 Krauser has reopened that old wound.
Lim's mini-Leon is still an amazing figure. I'd also have to agree that I prefer both those sculpts over what Dam did. And the funny thing is one of them is 1/6 scale.
Hopefully theres still a chance that Lim will do a 1/12 RE2R Claire to go with that Leon yet. I wonder if they would make Ada since MT already made the 1/12 counterpart.

Its a bit unfair to compare MT with all those other companies that are known for their mediocre work and endless iterations (SW mostly looking at your lazy ass).

If we look at the difference between MT 1.0 and 2.0 it is huge. A seamless Body, two outfits, 1.0 outfit improved, several extra accessories, extra headsculpt. And all that for $210-ish if I remember correctly? It’s a great deal, especially in these times of inflation.

I get what youre saying. We havent gotten a perfect Ada yet. But for me this one is good enough, it’s 90% there.

We have to remember this is a fairly cheap third party product. Limtoys is an extreme exception when it comes to third party companies. They take so long developing figures and their figures are so cheap. I sometimes wonder if they even make a profit at all.

Dam however is licensed, way more expensive and in my opinion did a much worse job. Delivering a soulless looking figure with a huge body that doesnt even scale with Leon.

No the figure isnt perfect, but I can clearly see the passion MT put into this figure.
Oh I am definitely not comparing anyone to the lazy slopfest that is SWtoys. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, but after seeing their "classic" Jill go up for a freaking $430, yeah, f*** them. lol
I do agree that the 2.0 sculpts are definitely an improvement over 1.0, and I really do like it. But in a lot of ways the 2.0 Normal sculpt is really just 1.0, but now with makeup. And when you do add makeup to the 1.0, the lines on which is better become a little more blurred.
But it is nice to see MT finally including bodies and more accessories with their figures, it makes them feel much more complete upon purchase.
I also think that if MT spent a little more time making the paint applications look a little less cartoon-ish/anime-ish, I believe it would vastly improve their RE products.
Thats the one thing that really put me off from getting their Leon. I just don't like the weird smirk on his normal sculpt. It looks like he shat his pants and is trying to see if anyone else noticed. lol

I haven't noticed a smirk on Leon. It's one of my fav figures and gonna protect him at all costs. :lol
Love or hate, it's still the best 1/6 Leon imo. Ada 1.0 sculpt is great, paint kills the likeness, 2.0 has a better paint, sculpts are basically identical.

I know exactly what you mean. 😅
The sculpts are okay at best, same as the MT Leon, but I still don't see any likeness to the actual game models in either of them.

BTW, what body did you use for X? I've put mine back in the box because he can't stand on his own two feet without falling over every 2 seconds.
Hot Toys Falconer Predator, which makes him exactly 7 feet in 1/6 scale which is how tall Mr. X is supposed to be, not the 7'7" Colossus body he came with.

Maybe it's the photos that makes it look like he's smirking, I'm not sure. lol Something I've noticed with MT is that their products usually look a little different, and better in hand than in photos. Which isn't a bad thing.
I'd just prefer a more realistic paint app like the Prime1 statue. Maybe we'll see that on Leon 2.0 once it's announced.
