The fight has epic music, but it's a really bad boss fight. Boring, not fun, takes forever, not even worthwhile and practically optional.

Theres only 2 real bosses in Code Veronica, the Tyrant 2 encountrrs and Alexia 2 encounters. The rest are optional fights. And i prefer it that way. If i want to fight Steve i can, if i want to kill the worm i can, if i want to kill the giant spider i can, if i want to kill the Albinoid i can.

But in other games its like " i have no time to open this door ! " when you are stood at a progression door that you have the 4 chess keys, or a key card will fall from somebodies pocket in the background scenery after defeating nemesis, or for some reason a bit of railing will fall down after defeating the Re 3 worm so you can climb out. Lots of scripted " waiting " moments when fighting bosses like the Proto Tyrant in 0, G where the time is automatically up once you beat the monster. Theres so many contrived ways in other Re games which is like " oh you defeated the monster... erm now you are free to continue! ". You are almost held hostage. You are forced to waste your ammo on these bosses that serve no purpose other than to be killed.

You actually can't fight Steve, he's programmed to be unwinnable. You can only run away. Nosefratu is a real boss fight though, you can't proceed otherwise.

oh he is unwinnable, but you can still have fun shooting him and staggering him and stuff as intended. He is supposed to slowly make his way too you, get staggered, forces you to go back, he comes at you, gets stagered again ect. everybody that i have seen on youtube play the game just does the 180 turn, runs, gets hit, heels, runs, gets hit, heels, runs, trigger the cut scene

And i forgot nosferatu, he was cool. 3 unique cut scenes depending on how you defeat him

Hmm, I feel compelled to start either RE3 or CV, I haven't beaten those games in over a decade (but played them occasionally). How long is each game again?

RE3 is a little longer than any of RE2's individual scenarios I think. CV is pretty long for classic RE...not sure how long I'd say, 8 hours...?

RE3 for sure! I don't mind Code Veronica but it drags...

Okay, RE3 it is then. I replayed it in 2010 but stopped just before the train get attacked by Nemesis. The last time I fully beat it was 2004 maybe?

I tried replaying CVX in 2011 but I can't seem to beat it, I don't know if they cranked the difficulty up for the HD port since I didn't think I had any issues on PS2. :dunno

Yeah do RE3, by far. I may revisit it too, possibly but I'm planning on playing the whole series again this year so yeah.

For CV HD, they didn't crank it up, CV HD is a very barebones HD port after all. Did you cheat on PS2? :monkey3

Ah yes! Gameshark! Now I remember! Thanks for reminding me! :hi5:

Id say for a first time go through re3 maybe 5 hours, cv maybe 10. If you know what you are doing id say about 90 minutes for re3 and 4 hours for code veronica. Code veronica really isnt as intimidating as i am seeing people say. Its one of the easiest games. By the end of Code Veronica you have about 9 weapons all stocked up. I've seen some people say they didnt get the magnum so it screwed their game. Thats... fear mongering. Theres multiple machine guns, grenade launchers, shotgun, 2 suped up automatic pistols, the most OP crossbow and knife in the series ect

Play re 3 first though. Brush off the rust.

In REmake, I could easily doge zombies when they're about to lunge, whilst in the PS1 games, I always have enough ammo and space to dodge them. In CV, the paths are qually narrow to the PS1 games but they pack more enemies per square feet, and zombies could even go up and down stairs (not fair).

Unless I'm playing it wrong, is there a way to dodge them in CV or should I just kill the ones that get in the way?

Does anyone know if SS is planning on doing any Resident Evil character as a PF statue? From Games or movies?

For the first maybe 60 minutes of the game ( id say this is about what it will take you to do the first area going in with a hazey memory), shoot zombies in the knees with the pistol and slash them while they are on the ground ( or if its a dog, shoot it once so it falls, then just run up stand over it and slash it while its down until its dead ) then you wont need to dodge any enemies you will have enough ammo to drop everything. The whole crux of the issue is the first 45-60 minutes of the game. Most people going in to code veronica see the knife in the prior games being useless, but its actually fantastic. So if you gun and knife early on then youl have a good stock of ammo built up. It doesnt matter if you need to use 2-3 herbs doing this by cheap bites its worth it in the long haul. Its really all about the opening area setup then you can drop the knife and never have to worry about it again.
