So far the only significant complaint I have in this game is the lack of basic squad controls. From playing Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six squad based games, I really wish there simple squad commands like---"Form up" or "Suppressive Fire" or "Move Up/ Flank Right" kinds of commands. Brothers in Arms would be a perfect example of how they could've implemented some of this.

~~~OH man you burn through ammo fast in this game!!! Headshots are a must. And for once the knife is actually a great weapon to use.
Glad you are having fun from your impressions it sound like this game is worth keeping my preoerder.
Just got mine in and gotta say the Raccoon City sign (which thankfully didn't get messed up) and the steelbook both look pretty cool. Wished I didn't have to go to work tonight though, but plan on popping it in tomorrow morning.
Post outbreak. Would be much cheaper to build if you just had to throw rubbish around the place and not have to fill out the buildings with working mechanics and people! If i become stupidly rich ill just hire Glen Jacobs (wwe-kane) And get him to walk around in a Mr X costume and force him to shave his head again.
Well in that case, for authentic purposes, you might need to splash pigs blood here and there throughout the city. Grim I know, but you can't have your Raccoon City looking too clean post outbreak...
I'm torn on whether to get this on Tuesday or let my friend pick it up for me early next month as a late b-day present. I'd be saving $60 if I let him pick it up and there are really no other full priced games I care for atm but damnit I don't want to wait that long.
This game feels a bit out of place in the RE series. Then again, the RE series feels a bit out of place in the RE series nowadays. Looking forward to 6 in hopes of a remedy to this.
:lecture Truth!!! I will say this: If you enjoyed the scenes in Resident Evil: Apocalypse with Carlos and Nicholai fighting through the streets with the Umbrella dudes, you will enjoy this game.
~~~Since I'm probably biased towards this game, y'all should rent this game and decide before you spend $60 on it. I'm a resident evil fan so I'll find good things in any turd that has Resident Evil on the label.

That was the only good bit in Apocalypse.Still wish you played as UBCS Echo team, clearing the city and seeing it gotopot, and play as and RPD at times too

I watched Apocalypse last night. I dont know if it was because it was on tv and not on blu-ray like i usually watch it but i didnt get into it. And ive always thought it was the better movie.

But i still thought it was ok. Its the most "RE" movie of the 4. Its got elements from 0,2, Nemesis and Code Veronica. I feel some of the scenes like the late night streets are very 2/nemesis and then the Church and School are also 2 and 0 (given it is a very similar Church in 0). Then there is the sucky part of Nemesis that makes no sense when the zombies start coming out of the ground like a horror movie. And the scene where Alice decides to go solo and gets stopped face to face with a group of umbrella troopers only to drop her gun then catch it falling is from the opening of Code Veronica.

Damn, i want ORC even if it sucks.

I still think a lot of people are or were expecting a true RE game. As for me, I just wanted something new RE to play and kill zombie/B.O.W.s.

So is this game worth paying the $59.99 for?

Or should you wait and pick it up cheaper if possible??

If your an RE fan and want a fix before RE6 then get the game but if your just a gamer and want somthing to dig into then this might be a rent.

Wait... This is released already here in the U.S.? Was it officially released early? Where did you guys buy it from? I live in Chicago, any store I should go to?

Thanks in advance

I got it early, as I think most did, because I PO it from the online capcom store.

This is not a "True" Resident Evil game in the sense of the traditional survival horror. This is more of a squad-based action-3rd person shooter.

I'm in a mission that has me going through the RCPD visiting Chief Irons' office to find intel that connects Umbrella to the outbreak.

Some noob questions. Is this co-op like the Gears of War Horde mode or more like Left for Dead? Do you level up characters or is it more like RE classic and you just get better weapons over time? Are there classes and whatnot or is everyone just a generic "soldier"?

Campaign co-op is like Gears of War or Left 4 Dead - just play through the story with partners instead of AI.

Characters do level up and each class has its own abilities you can upgrade with XP. You can also unlock better weapons as you earn and spend more XP.
