Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Congrats on getting the game. Looks like the R3 Version is the only choice for physical copies. I wished there was one for the PS4. How long does it take for Play Asia ship to Malaysia btw?

R2 Japan version cost the same as R3, both has Japanese & English, so if i were me i would get the R2. Content seems the same except the box wording, not sure about the manuals. But why nobody getting the limited edition or ultimate edition? you get a map & artbook, or a schedule book, some pen & clip.

My limited edition R3 version got 2 manuals, both are Japanese version and English version.
My friend who bought the normal R3 version also have 2 manuals too.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Yes! Finally arrived!
Can't wait to try it now...but shame need to wait after my office hours first.

Thanks for sharing the pic!! That's pretty amazing. I think I will be ordering that one. I'm one of those people that would rather have the physical copy of a game so I was planning on importing a copy anyways. The set you have is just cool.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Hopefully it sells well enough, and they do more with the older games. I could give a **** about any sequels after RE6.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

I'm sure others have said it many times already, but I'd LOVE to own a remastered version of RE2 - that would be pretty damn cool.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

RE2, might be the most bellyached by fans in need of some kinda remake. RE2 did everything right, in a lot of ways it's superior to every other game in the series.

Hard to believe they built the original version of RE2 to somewhere around 70% and scrapped it, and then built a new game from scratch. Reason was, it was too similar to the original game. Although a lot of what was in the prototype spilled over into the later games. Locations, items, weapons, monsters etc.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Yeah, sometimes - certain things become instant classics.

I never finished RE2 actually - pretty frustrating. I remember renting it from a local video store, & didn't have it for long enough. From memory, I got up to where you make it into the police station foyer, & start exploring the different doorways & rooms on that level. I'll always remember the start though; streets are on fire, bunkered down behind a cop car, then making a run for it, shooting through a sea of moaners. :lol

Did I get that right? :monkey3

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

You got a PS3? You can download it off the network for like $5 I think. You need to finish it man. Especially since it has the two scenarios of both Leon and Claire and they get different weapons and circumstances.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Yeah, I've had one for about a year now - just getting into the whole thing only now really.

So far, I've bought the Tomb Raider prequel game, that SEGA Megadrive Platinum compilation, & just got ALIEN: Isolation the other day.

Very new to all this new gen gaming stuff; online navigating, downloading - all of it.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

I have yet to play that Tomb Raider game, but I may pick it up for PS4 sometime next year. I really want to get Alien in a few weeks, probably before my Christmas weekend off.

RE2 is a gem, and definitely worth going through. When you play Scenario A, which would be the first character you choose to play as, they'll get to the Police Station a different way than you would in Scenario B. In A, you need to go through the Gun Shop, Back Alleys and the streets to get there. In Scenario B, you're literally right there but you need to enter in through the back parking lot.

It was pretty inventive how the two stories parallel each other. B is a lot tougher since there is a second Boss you need to fight throughout the entire game. I always play Claire A and Leon B, since Leon gets stronger weapons and he takes more damage.

Claire's weapon set sucks ass :lol

I'm rambling...

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Nah - no worries, I'm enjoying the chat. :lol

You're right - I should've finished it back then, ah well. I was utterly blown away by the first game (which I did finish), but RE2 just took it to another level. I adore the RPGs - always have. This whole first person shooter phenomenon just doesn't appeal to me at all.

There's a gaming store near me that sells old games & consoles etc, & they've got a lot of PS1 games - specifically, RE2. It's just that they want some idiotic price for it, & it isn't in the best condition. Still - I'm glad I kept my old PS1, & there are some games I'd like to find for it again.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

My shameful confession is that I never finish RE2 legit because I read the infinite ammo cheat from PSM magazine. :slap

It's best just to play the digital copy, although I own the hard copy too. RE3 is good too, and it's different enough from RE2 by a big enough margin that it's not a rehash at all, although it takes place in Raccoon City again.

I remember when I got it on GC and found out there was a infinite ammo cheat specifically for that :lol I blew through the game.

I recently got all the secret weapons in it on the digital copy version legitimately. I didn't realize you had to beat it without saving, which isn't difficult. I can knock the whole game out in about 2 hours.

Nemesis, right? Actually - I did play & finish that one as well, should've mentioned that. I don't remember much of it though, just that crazy boss guy at the end that you fight on the helipad. There were way too many stupid hybrid monsters in that from memory too, but maybe I'm remembering it wrong.. :lol

The only cheat I ever used from a magazine, was for the original Tomb Raider on PS1.

All the way back in 1997. :horror

Yeah Nemesis. I play it here and there.

And I think you have that confused with RE1, where you fight the Tyrant on the helipad.
