If RE2-3 got full remakes, I hope they'd fix the geographical inconsistencies between them. Like why City Hall should be surrounded by a chemical plant :lol

When you go through the sewers in RE2 and get to the plant where you need to play as Sherry/Ada to get the Club Key... you only travel like 100 feet from the RPD. There's so many areas in Raccoon City that don't make any sense.

Like for example, the street Leon and Claire drive down isn't shown outside of the FMV in RE2... but in RE3 you actually cross that street, and it's nothing more than this tightly squeeze back alley :huh

Since they were made by two development teams, they didn't take geography into consideration.

Hah, damn! I've never really thought about the geographical errors before, but did share the sewer oversight hah. :goodpost:

Why didn't you like it? I honestly didn't read anyone who didn't like it. My only issues with it were with the handful of backgrounds they neglected with redoing in HD.

Yeah I have to say I liked it too - It's just one of those games for whatever reason I just can't complete. I had another crack at it and failed again. :slap
But in terms of the look and whatnot, it was fine.

Another example would be not able to open a locked door when you have a Grenade Launcher on hand. While a lockpick or a key does the trick. And a door that can't be opened simply because the doorknob is broken. Or a path that is totally blocked by a table that you have to take a big detour.

If you liked REmake, you'll like Zero. Plus, you get to find out how the Mansion virus leak happened.

Although, as I mentioned earlier with Capcom's horrible choices in geography... there's a "magic elevator" in Zero that doesn't make any sense at all :lol

I won't spoil where it goes or anything, but it shouldn't exist. I guess it needs to be taken as non-canon since it's only really there to recover items you drop from the very beginning of the game. There's no item boxes in it BTW to anyone who doesn't know. You need to drop items and work with 12 item slots (split between Billy and Rebecca).

Well, playing the RE1 remake this year proved to me that you can't go back so I doubt I'll get much enjoyment out of playing 0 again. It makes me a little more hopeful for a RE2 remake though.

I'm surprised you say that. I've never played an RE game before RE4. And I adored REHD! The only dated thing about it was the controls due to the camera, but that's a small sacrifice that really "makes" the game.

Did the team that made RE1 HD make Zero, and do they still work at capcom to allow them to make RE2 HD?

I wouldn't doubt the same group is doing Zero.

I have an obsession with old Resident Evil pre-rendered backgrounds. Something about the overwhelming detail. Looking at them for long periods of time often leaves me in a deep nostalgic depression. :lol

I get the nostalgia, believe me. Something about the "look" of Raccoon City in RE2-3 draws me in. There's such an atmosphere to it. Pre-rendered backgrounds of the 90s is a lost art.

BTW this camera angle you posted is from the Beta version of RE3, I only became aware of it recently.

This. Especially the above two :lecture
- As noted it is a lost art seemingly.

Aw yes! I love the Escape from the Lab / ominous system warning theme :rock

First time I played R2:

"The self-destruct system has been activated. Repeat: the self-destruct system has been activated. This sequence may not be aborted. All employees proceed to the emergency car at the bottom platform."

:panic: :panic: :panic:

Equip the Mag at earliest oppertunity and hope for the best :lol

I saw that video floating around FB but didn't watch it until now. I didn't realize they brought in the original director, and some of the originally dev team. I guess what better hands to put it in.

The problem with going with any more remasters is that pretty much anyone involved with RE2-3 aren't with Capcom anymore as far as I know.

How good was Zero anyway? I had the game since launch but never beaten it. It didn't felt creepy to me.

It's a solid game. I'd give it an 8/10. Nothing bad, but nothing spectacular either.

You do visit a place from RE2 toward the end which is one redeeming value.

Pretty much. It has its moments. Some parts can get boring especially when trying to control two characters. The AI is okay, doesn't do much besides shoot a zombie here and there. The singing leech queen is weird... :lol

These two games deserve the REmaster treatment. If get can't get a REmake of 2 & 3 we should get at least get Outbreak #3.
