The GC versions were cleaned up, and look better than the versions you got off the PSN.
If RE2-3 got full remakes, I hope they'd fix the geographical inconsistencies between them. Like why City Hall should be surrounded by a chemical plant
When you go through the sewers in RE2 and get to the plant where you need to play as Sherry/Ada to get the Club Key... you only travel like 100 feet from the RPD. There's so many areas in Raccoon City that don't make any sense.
Like for example, the street Leon and Claire drive down isn't shown outside of the FMV in RE2... but in RE3 you actually cross that street, and it's nothing more than this tightly squeeze back alley
Since they were made by two development teams, they didn't take geography into consideration.
Why didn't you like it? I honestly didn't read anyone who didn't like it. My only issues with it were with the handful of backgrounds they neglected with redoing in HD.
Another example would be not able to open a locked door when you have a Grenade Launcher on hand. While a lockpick or a key does the trick. And a door that can't be opened simply because the doorknob is broken. Or a path that is totally blocked by a table that you have to take a big detour.
Same, it's the only one I never even touchedThat's fantastic news about RE Zero. I never played it . Can't wait.
Well, playing the RE1 remake this year proved to me that you can't go back so I doubt I'll get much enjoyment out of playing 0 again. It makes me a little more hopeful for a RE2 remake though.
I'm surprised you say that. I've never played an RE game before RE4. And I adored REHD! The only dated thing about it was the controls due to the camera, but that's a small sacrifice that really "makes" the game.
Did the team that made RE1 HD make Zero, and do they still work at capcom to allow them to make RE2 HD?

I have an obsession with old Resident Evil pre-rendered backgrounds. Something about the overwhelming detail. Looking at them for long periods of time often leaves me in a deep nostalgic depression.

How good was Zero anyway? I had the game since launch but never beaten it. It didn't felt creepy to me.

It's a solid game. I'd give it an 8/10. Nothing bad, but nothing spectacular either.
You do visit a place from RE2 toward the end which is one redeeming value.
