That's excellent news! I have the game for the GameCube for ages but I never gotten around to beating it. Something about the lack of a spooky atmosphere and morphing leeches turned me off after the excellence of REmake.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

I heard that James Franco is also contractually obligated to hold an invisible box as he delivers his lines.

Such great news!

I'm getting tingling in my pants.

I really hope they add a two player mechanic, there's no reason why it wouldn't jive with how the game is put together. The two characters don't need to be in the same place at all really.

Oh nice!

Yes, this is a good announcement for sure.

I absolutely suck at Res 1, in fact I never completed it; only Res 2 onward. I picked up the HD redux on the PS4 purely to add to the chances of additional remasters.

I have to say I was really hoping the next would be 2, but 0 is by no means a disappointing announcement. :yess:

If they do anything beyond this, it will probably be another RE4 remaster. If they end up doing RE2-3, they'll HD remaster the PSX versions instead of a completely remake from the ground up.

Hmm, yeah good point.
- I don't see them making a from the group up Res 2, which is a shame as it's easily my favourite game of any franchise / platform.

Still, definitely picking up zero!

I really, really hope we get a two player mode. I find Zero kinda boring TBH, but I thought it was a great sister game to REmake since it has a great atmosphere and music.

Plus Billy > Chris.

Sweet! It only took ten years for me to get my hands on this and ResiHD. I remember being so jealous back in the day.

I really want a RE2 HD remake like this. It seems capcom got he wrong idea from the success of REHD and concentrating or remasters instead XD XD

You never know. At least they are going in a better direction than they have with going after the old titles and bringing them back. I wonder if the interest around the Rod Lima and Invader Games RE2 remakes is making them consider going full remake. Although, if we got a real high end HD upgrade to RE2, just with new models I'd be happy. It would work and just leave the previous backgrounds, but spruce them up a bit.

I'd be surprised if it didn't, or at least give them something to seriously think about.

I think Zero will be a contributing factor, in so much another 1 million copies and it could very well path the way to, yeah, perhaps a aforementioned 'spruced up' HD variant.

I'd love it to contain the extra's too, Tofu and Hunk survivor modes and maybe, hell maybe Playable Tofu as a pre-order special or DLC.

If RE2-3 got full remakes, I hope they'd fix the geographical inconsistencies between them. Like why City Hall should be surrounded by a chemical plant :lol

When you go through the sewers in RE2 and get to the plant where you need to play as Sherry/Ada to get the Club Key... you only travel like 100 feet from the RPD. There's so many areas in Raccoon City that don't make any sense.

Like for example, the street Leon and Claire drive down isn't shown outside of the FMV in RE2... but in RE3 you actually cross that street, and it's nothing more than this tightly squeeze back alley :huh

Since they were made by two development teams, they didn't take geography into consideration.

Well, playing the RE1 remake this year proved to me that you can't go back so I doubt I'll get much enjoyment out of playing 0 again. It makes me a little more hopeful for a RE2 remake though.

Another example would be not able to open a locked door when you have a Grenade Launcher on hand. While a lockpick or a key does the trick. And a door that can't be opened simply because the doorknob is broken. Or a path that is totally blocked by a table that you have to take a big detour.

Why didn't you like it? I honestly didn't read anyone who didn't like it. My only issues with it were with the handful of backgrounds they neglected with redoing in HD.

From what i've read, to remaster a PS1 game would take so much work, it would make more sense to build it from scratch.. which would be like making an entire new (old) game, so i don't have high hopes for those remasters.

It's why in all remasters or HD collections, non have any of the PS1 games. MGS was missing 1, Silent Hill was missing 1, Final Fantasy went straight for FFX & X-2.

Nevermind, i forgot they made 2/3 for the Gamecube as well, were they straight ports though and not a remake like RE1?
