Resident Evil: The Complete Series Thread

I for one hope they don't reboot the series for a good long while, RE is one of those few games that haven't had the need, really, for a "re-imagining or reboot" I think its neat to say "hey we've almost had two decades of story going" (currently RE is approx 14 yrs old). Much like Metal gear Solid, its been one continuous story since the first Metal Gear. Unlike final fantasy games or heck even Legend of zelda games (which i love, not bashing them) where the story is either constantly different or re-imagined with other characters, and stand alone as games (not always a bad thing).

i like that RE hasnt had that yet. I think they have plenty of stories to tell in the current established universe, and i hope they do so.

I'd also like to see what Carlos, Billy and Barry have been up to over the years. Of course I'd also love to see Claire star in a game with next gen graphics and of course I can't forget about perhaps the most underrated female RE character ever Rebecca.

Last I heard, getting down in some Samba de Janeiro club. Oh my cod.

Despite Darkside Chronicles putting his backstory on a pretty tight leash, I'd like a game with Krauser as the main playable character.
Also I hope they don't toss Sheva and Josh to the wayside in terms of the main RE storyline. I thought they were pretty cool overall.

This is what I heard and how I interpreted it as well. They will continue the series but they will be reinventing the game.

Yeah I gathered as much, countering with an admittedly really obscure 'tube video reference.

Well I think what Takeuchi, the producer, was getting at was more to do with the gameplay and controls and things - similar to how RE4 reinvented the series, so RE6 will probably need to follow likewise to not become stale in gameplay.

I would like to see Barry and Rebecca as the main protagonists in a game. I could see them having really enjoyable interactions.

I got a little nervous when they put the lasers into the RE4 game, but it was different enough to not think about it too much but then they put the exact laser room from the movie into Umbrella Chronicles as well as the Red Queen computer...I got a little more concerned lol.

but a few "homages" arent so bad i spose.

admittedly I do like the movies but for different reasons then i like the games.

I can't stand alice, she has nothing to do with the game's but yet she is the main character in the movie, i never got why jill or cliare couldn't be the main character. I allways say resident evil the first movie should have been set in racoon city and with cliare fing her brother and bumping into leon, it would make an awesome movie. Now its all ninja sword and it's like wtf.
