I always imagined that constructing the lightsaber was done entirely with the force. So the screwdriver looked a little odd to me as well. But the fact that Luke looked like he was going to use that saber to put a stop to Vader's force stalking made up for it.

I am very surprised he hasn't edited the prequels. All three could do with serious editing by way of Jar Jar, "comedy" and "romance" removal!

As for this scene, im getting a funny feeling that this is not a scene cut from the original movie, but rather just something they assembled out of stock footage for the fans. Im doubtful as to wheather that is even Mark Hamill.

The fact that it is coming out on Blu Ray is awsome. I just hope they fix the fact that in some scenes in ANH the lightsaber is the wrong color.

Supposed to be many more. This was released as a teaser for what we can expect next year.

I'm pretty sure he says something similar while stalking Luke during the saber duel.

It is a cool scene, but I agree it does have a weird special edition vibe, like it was something assembled more recently. The Vader dialogue definitely felt like cobbled together lines from other scenes. Or it could just be that seeing new footage after almost 30 years is so jarring that it gives off that effect.

He actively attempts to discredit if not outright destroy the original version of the films, the versions that made Star Wars the phenomenon it is, but the fanboys swoon when he shows them a scene that was not deemed worthy for any version of the film for almost thirty years.

Actually Lucas forcing himself upon me in that exact manner is the best metaphor for the Star Wars Special Editions.

But this scene isn't being inserted into the film. It's just a deleted scene. I hate the special editions of the movies so I think we're more or less on the same page there, but I don't see how you can criticize him for releasing a deleted scene like this.

A lookalike maybe? Digital effect? Maybe it even is Mark himself from stock footage of Luke in Jabba's palace edited into the shot with a stand in acting as his hands.
Im just doubtful that the scene as it is was shot this way and we are just seeing it now.

Actor Mark Hamill came out to describe the scene, remarking that once again his original introduction in a Star Wars film was cut out (his Anchorhead introduction was, of course, cut from A New Hope). Luke's intro is purposely played as ominous, with his face cowled in shadows and his intentions unclear."I had the black cloak, the glove, and I thought, wow, this time around I get to be the antagonist. Little did I know I was predicting the path of the prequels," said Hamill, noting the similarities to Luke in this scene and Anakin Skywalker's appearance

Look at this video. Just a year ago Mark is claiming that this scene was never filmed, and if it was, it was an insert shot done with a stunt double.
