Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

How's the packing seem to you? Do you foresee many problems during shipping with this or do you think only a few will arrive with damage?

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

I need to get through this meeting and then I can finish assembly and post photos. To answer on the pieces, you have:

  • Base
  • Horse
  • Horse Tail (needs to be secured to horse first, then horse to base. Tail is heavy so I think there is some load-bearing metal in it.)
  • Ringwraith Figure
  • Ringwraith Outer Cloak, including hood
  • Pointing Hand
  • Hand with sword
  • Sword scabbard
  • Sword Hilt (to insert in scabbard when sword hand not used)
  • Dagger in Scabbard

Both scabbards have belt straps that need to be looped around figure and fastened. This part is what I haven't had time for yet. The pictures are a little dark because they showed them doing the loops of the dark belt with a black background, lol. Also, one of my stirrups is a little bent, but this is a softer material so I think I just need to heat it slightly and then bend it back into shape. Overall, it is massive. I have been able to assemble it alone, but it is a little tricky to get the tail into the horse and then the two pieces into the base without an extra pair of hands.

The packaging (clamshell) comes in 3 layers. You remove the top layer to access the horse and tail, then remove that middle layer they rest in to access the other pieces. Box is very large but not unmanageable.

The statue is sitting on my table while I work and it's impossible to not look at it every so often. Will definitely be a showcase piece and will be very noticeable from across any room.

Pics soon!

I know that I need professional help for my Poly-addiction when just this description alone makes me.....:drool

:lol

Gonna need to set sometime aside to make sure I can put this together.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

How is the cloth on the rider? Do you like it?

How heavy is the statue?

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

The cloth is good... at least 3-4 layers and very heavy weight. There is some variety between the cloak and the inner layer too, which is nice. Working on the belts now, trying to determine which layers to put them over/under. The cloth is going to be a process of adjusting to get it to look just so... that will probably be the most time-consuming part.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

If anyone else is taking pics later, please take a couple so we can see what is under the rider's black cloak. I'm curious to know what the cloak is actually hanging on.

Reg seems the way to go with this.
That sword ex looks sooooooooo limp-wristed.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

The sword might look good pointing down that much with the Frodo PF

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

Mine's going to be sitting on top of one of my Detolfs (if there's room between that and the ceiling!) so perhaps the sword will look more menacing from below. Otherwise, I have no problem displaying the grabby hand instead.

This looks like more than a home run to me. This is a grand slam. No, check that ... it's a five-run home run!

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

OK, MOAR PHOTOZZZ. Please bear in mind I'm rushing to make use of daylight and get these up for y'all, so I haven't had as much time as I'd like to futz with the cloth. I was able to warm that one stirrup with a hairdryer (low speed, warm) for about 10 seconds and then correct it without issue.
