Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

Yea, but everyone that has one swears by how awesome it is. I hope I will be able to get this soon. Need to make space. I think I'm done with LOTR after this one and Sauron.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

The Missus helped me with a few stitches in the sleeves (as PKH suggested) and I think it really looks better! Thanks for the tip!

That cool fringe doesn't get lost amid all the other tattered cloth now. You can actually see the nice detail they added to the sleeves.

@Bucky Underbelly
Great you liked the tip and it was useful. I was a little bit uncertain because only you, Fremen and Danstangoe actually responded to it.

IMO it adds much to the statue.

Still I'm asking myself if it was a mistake that they didn't stitch the cloth together at the factory or was it not intended? Also, nobody else remarked on that so I was very unsure if my solution is correct.

I think you're idea looks cool although I'm too fond of the clean looking seam and stitch.

It could have been a mistake but I think they replaced the black cloth with the grey one inner. If you look at the proto pictures it seems a little different.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

Yes, I looked at the proto pictures when draping the clothes and I think they changed it quite a lot. Especially this part for me turns out better to me than the proto.

As I do own the old SSW RoS, the new Ringwraith statue they released last yea,r and the Morgul Lord PF, I tried to figure out how all the different layers of cloth were supposed to be arranged. I remember having close-ups of the original costumes where the hems were clearly visible. So for me that made clear that the loose ends should belong together.

I also like very much the type of different chosen fabrics which perfectly fit this statue and make it possible to come as close as can be to the original costumes of the Nazgûl. They really some kind of "flow" around the statue which can also be seen on the old SSW statue.

Are you guys talking about the sleeveless robe that is already on Rider's body when you take him out of the packaging?

If so, my sleeves were stitched in place. I'll try to take a pic to show you.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

Yep, exactly. If you go back to post 3276 I have posted some pics how it looks (should look in my opinion) after I had stichted the loose ends together.

To be honest, I can't remember if it was the piece of cloth that was already on the statue, but I don't think so.

Let me know if you need further pics!

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

I guess I'm confused now, because in my pics above, it's actually stitched the way it's shown in the red circles.

But, in your pics, it almost looks like yours wasn't stitched (or you cut the stitching).

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

I try to make it clearer: In your red circle it seems that there is a loose end (where the hem is ending). You should have another end which looks the same. These two loose ends I stitched together.

This way they form a loop with the hem as the outer edge.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

I'm glad we've been talking about his fabric. I just realized that the tattered inner sleeves on mine were stuffed inside his other outer robes, hidden from view. I've fixed that and now it looks even better.

Here are two new photos showing where the loose ends have been stichted together:

Not sure if I made it clear enough; if not please let me know.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

Really, they didn't!

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

I get what you're saying now, and I see it on my piece. But, I'm not going to mess with it.

I love my Dark Rider and will leave him as is.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

Yes, it's a fantastic statue. As an absolute Nazgûl-fan I fell in love with it when it was annonced and I'm so happy it came out this great. They absolutly did it right, therefor I'm really astonished that it sells so slowly.

I see the price tag (and also for me it was not sure if I could afford it) but I thought the fanbase for this would be bigger. Eventhough I prefer the pointing hand the Ex is a must for this one!

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

I think size and price (plus freight), not to mention QC concerns, will make this a slow seller.
Some are not crazy with PF stichwork, but on this one in particular it turned out really well.
That's basically what the figure is so it had to be, thank God. Horse turned out great.
Hopefully the good reviews will persuade those on the fence to get something that's really impressive.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

It would be so cool to see a Ringwraith in black in the next 2 hobbit films...It might not happen but you never know

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF..Link to buy in 1st Post.

I think after the Necromancer left Mirkwood and went back to Mordor, the Nazgul were already on their search. So possibly...
That would be cool, maybe generate added interest for this piece as well.
