Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

what is there to think about? it's 1/4 scale PF statue probably in the $400-600 range.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

So do you guys think this could answer the question?..... Will this indeed be an expensive PF or a LSF? Found this in the Q&A thread.

Q.Monday, June 14th, 2010
We need more Hobbit Premium Format figures and I think the next one should be Samwise with Bill. What are the chances, Sideshow?

Samwise with Bill might be a contender, but if we’re getting into 1:4 scale steeds, it’s likely going to be a horse of a different color…

What do you think guys and gals?

I think it's been almost two years since they said that. Crazy!

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

God if this ends up in that crap LSF line I'm gonna kill Sideshow. Everyone in this thread has been waiting for this guy for YEARS and if they slap a ridiculous price tag on what is basically a "form" dressed in black cloth on top of a horse, this ____ will get crazy in here.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

Hmm . . .an LSF eh? If you're looking for a centerpiece, one that immediately comes to mind is the Smaug by Weta. Then again, that's not an LOTR, but the base and faux-bronze look does exude quality about it. If you're gonna drop $400-600 for something bigger, then ARH Studios' Medusa would easily fit that bill. Then again, it's not LOTR.

How much did the 1/4 scale Star Wars Trooper and Bike go for? I'd expect this RWOS PF may fetch something close to that.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

the more i read sideshow's response on facebook regarding wolfie the more i am pissed off about what they are trying to pull, must really think all of us are just idiots & sheeps.

but this will not be lsf, zero chance.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

I don't think this will end up being an LSF. They've already confirmed that it's a PF. (The production peek video is clearly labeled as a PF.)

BUT ... whatever they call it ... that doesn't mean they're not going to charge an a$$load for it. I really hope they don't, but I could see them potentially sneaking the price up over $1K. After all, the Speeder Bike/Biker Scout piece was something like $600 or $700 if memory serves. And that was five or six years ago.

I seriously hope they don't go crazy with the pricing on this, but I don't have a lot of faith right now. Those LSF prices are just nuts ... :(

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

I hope you guys are right, but you can never know with SS, they lie about a lot of stuff and they go back on their word often, if you believe that just cause a old ass video was labeled as a pf, means there's no chance it will be turned into a LSF, then your just being naive. Got my fingers crossed though, cause I really want this, but won't pay LSF prices for it.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

Unless one has substantial proof when making certain claims it's best to keep those opinions to oneself. Just sayin..... :)

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

So do i mate

A little mole on another forum (who does work for SS) has assured us it will be cheaper than we expect,he couldn't be specific though,he also said he's seen it and its awesome

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

From material point I would say it's gonna be expensive.
Not sure how difficult the paintjob is as it's "just" black.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

How much more black could it get? I think the answer is none...none more black.

Actually the level of detail on the paint job in the preview video looks great. If the price point is less than 1K, I am in for sure. If it is over 1K, I may need to sell a kidney. I can't wait to see this though, and get the dimensions. I am eager to build a shelving system for the LOTR PF's and I would love this to be a centerpiece!

-one of the best movies of all time! :duff

I just don't see the RWOS being over a grand. It's a sculpted horse and a figure (that could be mostly plastic for all we know, to save money and weight) which is going to be covered in robes. The Morgul Lord was only $290.00 and he's huge.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

Yeah, with the Morgul Lord PF going for $290, I'm hoping for a price tag of between $600 and $700...and that will be fine with me. :yess:

Bring it! :impatient:

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

I will not be buying this if it's more than $600, even that is a tough sell and need to look really good.

The large premium format is 400-500 range, there is no way this is in the same tier as the ironman / predator maquette...it's made by ss, not a legacy or gore item, nor does it require the kind of detail those sculpts have.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

Nazgul-King, we will have to get together for a beer on November 11th to have a celebration of all things Spinal Tap. Even after all this time, it is still a classic.

I hope the price point is more reasonable than 1K, but given the size of the speederbike and the price point for that back in the day, I would think that $600 - $700 might be a little low. I would be thrilled if it were that affordable though, and I would be okay if the horse isn't polystone, as a solid horse would be massive, and given the nature of the rider, it doesn't have to support as much weight.

Re: Ringwraith on Steed PF

how crazy are we all are really, begging to pay *only* $600-700 for a bunch of cloth on a horse...

high five! :hi5:
