Glad this is under $1K, but I'm going to have to live vicariously through the rest of you.
I think I've reached critical mass in terms of collectibles and the amount I can spend on them. The fact is that my circumstances are now different than they were five years ago; hell, even a year ago. Sure, my salary has increase pretty well each year, but so have my expenditures as my children have gotten older and as me and my family prepare to move into our first house.
In the past I would never have missed out an any of the LOTR PFs, but I could get this PF, or use the money to spend on some household needs.
I've already sold some Sideshow Weta items, as well as 10 Hot Toys figures in the last few months. It may be time to let go of Lurtz, the Berserker, the two orcs, the two Gandalfs, Aragorn and Legolas...

I hear you. I've reduced my collection big time over the last couple years and had already made the decision that this will most likely be one of the last pieces that I get. It has to end for me sometime and as far as what I look for in a collectible - this one has it all.

Very impressive great detail, thought the steed looked a bit high but that's just nit picking. I dont like the base though, looks like the horse has stood in a huge ____t.

I agree that's much more likely, and the guesses of 400 sound about right. Under 500 and I'll probably get the Ex, though depends on how much cheaper this is elsewhere. $80 for an extra awkward sword hand is a bit much.

bring on the sauron 1/4 PF now and i WANT SARUMAN PF... does anyone know if sideshow has anounced anything on sauroman? i really like the charachter and i think a mixed media sauroman PF with a good pose will be outstanding to lotr collection, also for EX it could have his staff and another hand with his orb and the sauron eye lit up inside it

This ex isn't as impressive as the ex GtG swap head for instance so I need more pics and an ed size to judge if its worth the extra coin to me.
No interest in a 'sauroman', but a Saruman PF along side my GtG PF would be the tits. Still, I have intended to have GtG and this as my only 1/4 LotR pieces for awhile now.

well, not sure about the posture of the horse too.
he seem's to much on his back, looks like he's going to fall.
sometime sideshow takes weird decision about posture, morgul lord is another example.

Jus saw all the pics. I really like it. I'll probably get the Reg. I like that pose and the detailing on the horse. Dont think i need the Ex. Glad this one wasn't 1k. $800 is still tough to swallow, but it looks well worth it. I just hope the paint looks this good on the final product. I love the red eyes on the horse
