A brilliant musician. And a guy with a really interesting backstory that was covered in Ken burns' country music documentary. Acting wise I know him best from pat Garrett and Billy the kid and a star is born. He was great in both. RIP.

Plus he did a ton of great stuff in the seventies like Pat Garrett, Sailor Who Fell From Grace and lol Convoy.

I grew up listening to the songs usually on a Sunday. The favorite of my tribe and I is 'Sunday morning Coming Down' The lyrics and voice tell you all you need to know.
I found a quick summary of what Burns covers in his documentary, though it is worth watching in full. One of those rare talents who was so good at everything that he did that he seemed destined for greatness no matter what path he took.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad so I had one more for dessert.
