Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

I had to build shackles for our current production that's in rehearsal Female Transport.
My spring break was suppose to be getting the back packs finished but....

Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

Trust me mate, I would have rather worked on the back packs. I really want to get those things out to you guys. I'm really ready to move on to something new.

Oh, I know mate. Work commitments have to come first!

Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

Is it terribly rude to crash your thread? Your set, and props, beat the **** out of what we had to work with back in the day:

Female-Transport-1976_zpsb95dd86e.jpg

At the Los Angeles Actors Theatre, 1976. The platform is the Captain's quarters. Beds (blocks) and straw and costumes and hand props. Everything else mimed, like freakin' "Our Town." Audience on three sides, but more a theatre-in-the-round than a thrust. Beams blocking the views at the ends.

The woman dead center with the bandana is the late Paddy Edwards, who played Madge; later she voiced Ursula's eels in "Little Mermaid." The dog, needless to say, was not in the show. He slept through rehearsals of the scene where the women attack the sergeant, which unnerved the actors terribly, but he was a true theatre dog and recognized acting when he saw it. For some strange reason, I feel happy for anyone who gets to work on this seldom-produced piece. A song of sisterhood, powerful when it works. Wish I could see yours, Robbie.

Dude..... that is the coolest **** I have read in a long time. Thanks for sharing.

Sir, you can crash my thread anytime.

Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

Thought I would share Bane mod. I too wanted the neck area a little bigger so I used my tried and true masking tape stuff. I like it because its easy to build up and dense so it will hold it's shape. Also its reversible. Once I got it in there I found it wasn't right so I split the side glue and then rebuilt the whole area using tape. As it gets bigger the chest rubber then wants to slide up so I glue the rubber to the under structure in the chest and back. This holds it down and also gives the chest a more concave look which I like.

Oh and for those that follow my theatre stuff, here is the set being built.

This is the rocker system for the "boat".

All this will eventually look like this.

Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

i really miss the rubber bodies. i know poseabilty is an issue but for some figures like bane, sleevless thor, etc. a meaty badass stance is all that youd need. maybe they could make a meat torso for bane 2.0

Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

Jeez, Robbie. You made a figure that I absolutely no interest in look amazing. Almost makes me want to get one now. LOL.

I can't wait to see your DX11 Joker pics. I got him today but haven't got him out yet. Regardless, they come to life on your bench in a way they never do on my shelves.
