Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

Damn Robbie. You are blessed with amazing talent. That is fantastic work.

Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

The sets are pure transportation, Robbie. Your young actors are in for such a rude shock when they land in NY or Los Angeles. This level of production only exists on Broadway or the LORT circuit. Off-Broadway or in Hollywood, if a set looks as good as a high school production, it's a miracle. At the risk of going political, perhaps a survey of what is only available to theatre audiences in the University system would shake up the national discussion of the role of the arts. We are soooo backward. Oh me oh my, I am breaking my own rule and getting political...enuff.

May all your students find jobs! :duff

In general, theatre productions suck a-s here in L.A. :monkey2

Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

Like many others, I thought I would start a thread to show my work.
I'm starting it with my current project. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks everyone.
Elvis- you are correct, Im doing the Immortals. Im going to attempt to do a limited run of 20-30 figures. Im experimenting with a few things like metal swords and masks.
Depending on how this work is received, im looking to offer full figures about twice a year. All aspects created and executed by me.

extremely interested to see how this turned out. Are you still working on the Immortals? Fantastic work as always RTP

Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

Thanks man. Its on hold till I get all this other stuff done. I hope to get back to it this summer. Theatre will be done and I can focus on the important stuff.

It will happen eventually.

Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

Hey Robbie, not sure but were you making a coin for Killer A?

Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

No. Would be a huge pain to cast. And for the price I would need to charge to make it worth it, I don't think people would want to pay it.

Sorry.

Re: robbiethepainter's project thread.

Got this guy this morning and it is awesome but I thought I would give it a few tweaks before he goes to the shelf.

First one was adding a touch more copper. Accurate or not, I wanted the copper to pop a little more, because I found the figure to be a little too dark for my liking. So a little dry brushing of copper on some areas.

Second was the the waist. I always thought the HT figures were lacking the "love handles" that seemed to be in the real costume. I noticed that there seemed to be a skin over the base body and sure enough once I tore the whole thing apart I found a seam and a little slop in the fit. So I opened up the seam and built up the waist line a little with masking tape. Then the fun part of stretching the skin back over the mod. Lots of heat and heavy handed work, I got it stretched and re glued.

These are the results.
