AVP2 wasn't THAT bad... I was mildly entertained and thats ALL I expect from this one.

NOBODY makes movies like they use to. They are all flawed now days.

Hanzo Pred fight looks cool, see him slcie the Pred right across the stomach! Your gonna make him one mad Pred! :rock

Ok, now I've done it. I read the script. I'll put my opinion in spoiler tags.
@Celtic, you keep reading, and share your opinion :D

I have to say I was shocked. Mainly positively, but also negatively. I like the general plot of the movie, but at some points (for me ofcourse) it got too weird with the predator gear and weaponry, for example the predator chaingun and a plain axe. WTF?
Not to mention there were WAAAY too many references to the original, including "if it bleeds, we can kill it," "you're one ugly mother ____er" (in Russian though, so I guess thats ok), "we're all gonna die," Billy's laugh by that russian guy, "over here," the traps seemed way too similar to P1 and many other elements that were so obvious copies I literally facepalmed at but just cant remember right now. At some points it felt like AVPR.
Then the ending was pretty confusing and bizarre, as Black got literally pwned like a little kid, and I dont know if the script I read was missing the part, but I dont quite understand what happened to Edwin. One minute he was there talking to Izzy, and then the next moment she was up and talking to Royce... Also I didnt understand Edwin's intentions, did he just go even more crazy?
Plus I didnt feel like we were getting to know the characters much, and I didnt even notice their names being introduced to the viewers.
Some points were also a little contradictory and cheesy.

All in all, I think Im gonna like it, but I didnt expect it to be so original-referring. What do you guys, who have read the script, think?
Oh and this question popped up: why is one of the preds called Falconer, when Mr. Black is the one mainly using the falcon, especially at the end?

I think you skipped stuff....:lol

I still dont get the hate for the multicaster, but that's me. Whats wrong with an axe just lying in the hunting camp Thats where Royce got it from...

Hmmm...I see your point. But I didnt mind them. They were too far in between, and more subtle (aside from the obvious ones..lol) that imo they worked. But we'll see. I hope they didnt add more. :slap

The endings, I agree with you 100%. Both endings suck. Flat out ____ing suck.

However, there are two. I dont think you read the other one. One ending either has Isebelle turing into an Alien :)confused:) or her getting really pissed off and killing him off screen.

The better ending is the one with the scalpel. Read ALT ENDING 2. Trust me, it's better, and has a really great callback.

And Edwin was a serial killer. That's who he always was. He got Izzie to befriend him, got her calm, got her vulnerable. And when they were alone, his true self came out.

The Predators picked him because he's a hunter like them. He stalks his prey, he does the same things they do, except without fancy weapons...

I do kinda disagree about the characters, they did say their names I think...but I thought they were really fun and engaging. I was rooting for them rather then the Predators. I really liked Nikoli, Stans, Izzie, and Edwin.

Royce just rules so, yeah he's my favorite out of the bunch.

But glad you liked it. I had my issues with it too...mainly the black blood (which is now green!!!!) and the face being changed. But I accepted it...and said ok...and now that i've seen the face, I dont mind it all to much. Even though I dont like it. :dunno

Oh and when you read ALT ENDING 2...stop at the part when the lone Predator emerges from the ship....:slap

You know who that is...

The chaingun concept was imo just lame. What, it just popped out his wrist and direct his hand and the speed of sound toward the bullets? Megaweird. Would've been cooler if he just had one of those shields popping out his wrist just like in that fanmade AVP: Redemption. But maybe it'll do good in the film.
I didnt have a problem with the axe, I found it a suitable weapon actually. But the fact that bothers me is that Royce found it in the stuff the Classic had dropped. So it seems like it was a predator axe, though in the pictures it seems like a plain "human" axe.

Yeh, I guess we'll see about those references. Hope they'll work, but I have a bad feeling about this...

I did read all the endings. I understand what happened in the second where he was killed with the scalpel, but in the first it was pretty unclear. Izzie turning into an alien... wait wut?

Yes, I understood he was a serial killer, but at first I didnt catch why the hell would he kill Izzie in the middle of a war. But ofc, he's a psycho.
Why the predatorss choosed him? Dont entirely understand, because wasnt much of a warrior/adversary with that scalpel. He only survived because he had the breath to run along with Royce. Doesnt seem like that average prey for a predator, but yeah, these are these new predators...

No, I think you got me a little wrong. I loved the characters. What I didnt like is that their names, for a person who hasnt read the script, could be quite forgettable since they were mostly running, in war, and didnt get to know much about each other. Only Royce seemed to figure out who everybody was.
I also think Cuchillo seemed interesting and felt bad when he was killed so fast, and the part where it got really interesting for me was when they hooked up with Noland. He seemed like an interesting person, but was killed within 5 minutes of screentime. :(
I didnt like Royce that much though. He seemed like one of those though guys who knows everything, and he was arrogant. Thats what kept him alive though, but he wasnt likeable for me.
But I stand my ground, Hanzo was the best. Well, Stans came pretty close though. :D

And oh yeah, I was ready for that Arnie ending :D

Going from the ground up...Why the ____ did I use Spoiler tags....:slap:dunno

Royce DID know everything. He was incredibly intelligent, more then anyone else sans Izzy. He was warrior. He didnt care about anyone because, if he did, he could potentialy kill himself for it. When the end came, he realized he DID care about Izzy, he could've died for someone else. He became a human. Not a Predator.

Nolan was a shady _______. He tried to kill them, and steal their ____. That was what he was going to do. He had it coming.

I think what people are going to like about these characters are how different they are from each other. You have the calm, cool badass, the tough, resorceful girl, the snappy Convict, the creeper, the japanese swordsman...ect. It'll make the film more dynamic. But that's just my opinion.

They didnt pick Edwin because he was a tough guy. He's killed a ton of people, the VERY same way a Predator kills people. He looks to find a perfect person, probably woman, to be his "trophy" kill. He stalks them, perhaps with charm. He traps them. And then kills them. They picked him because, aside from Royce, he's the best hunter.

If he could've used his skills on the Predators, they wouldnt stand a chance. However, he found his trophy. Izzy. He first noticed her. Then he got her to protect him, and she in a way liked him. Not in a lovey way, but more of a mother protecting a child. He was the lesser being. Or so they think.

Scene sucks. Period. Makes no sense. :dunno

I thought the chaingun was the canon....I think they changed it to a canon. You can see it has 3 holes where plasma could shoot from.

Well, wether you like Royce or not is pretty much opinion. Maybe I will too, I havent seen the movie.

Noland was awesome. He knew the second Royce blew up the cave that he had it coming, both from Royce and the predators. But I still find him interesting and think he deserved more screentime. Plus, its Laurence Fishburne :D

I understand why Edwin was picked. I dont understand what were the predators' intentions with him. He wasnt much of a prey since he practically didnt seem to care he was being hunted, and he was merely armed.

Yeh, we'll have to wait and see how that chaingun thing works out.

They picked him because he was the best at hunting and killing. These Predators are basicly trying to step up their game. They dont always pick a person for their ability to fight. Just their ability to be a good hunter, and to prove the Predators are far better.

That is WHY he was picked, and I get it.
But prove that they are better hunters? By blowing a hole through his head while his practically unarmed? Looks odd to me.

Yes, he is a hunter amongst humans, but not your regular kind of hunter. He hunts psychologically, otherwise he's like any other guy. And thats why he was a stupid choise by the predators.
But I get it, his a plot device.

No, he's a perfect choice. He probably kills with his hands. They were impressed by the way he hunts. He's killed a ton of people. Perhaps more then all those other people. To a Predator, face to face, mono-e-mono he might not stand a chance....but to them, they found his abilty to kill another human impressive.

Remember, this aint about the honor, it's the thrill of the kill. They get the best to test their strangths and weaknesses.
